OPXion4EverIcon.png Over the past few months users (both regular and Op) on the IRC have noticed some obscurity about the IRC rules. As such, some users have decided to remodel the IRC rules found here. As you can see, some rules have been added/altered. A small discussion has already taken place on the IRC but we would like more opinions. Please place any comments/concerns here, thank you!

TALK - {{{time}}}
Well, as urged by some of the IRC-goers, I have thought of "##Wikia-Kingdomhearts." This allows for off-topic discussions on the new channel, while the older one (#Wikia-Kingdomhearts) is left for on-topic discussion only, which means that only talk directly reflecting the Wiki should be posted there. a quick list of the rules is as follows:
  • Moderators and Admins are automatically Operators on the channel
  • No spamming
  • Be respectful

But, those are fairly basic, so any more rules could help, so please post them and your ideas of the channel.

P.S. I apologize for my...lengthy absence, but this doesn't mean that I can edit again. I've tried before, (about 5-6 times since I went onto the IRC) to edit here, and my knowledge of Kingdom Hearts is nowhere near extensive enough to edit content, and Yuan has taken care of most the gnome work :/.

TALK - We don't accept resignations.01:22, February 11, 2010 (UTC)
Nobody.pngThere's no need for a second channel. The main IRC is rarely used to contact admins or talk about wikia-related topics. If you need to talk directly to an Admin about something, that's what the private chat is for... The main IRC would be deserted, and everyone would be on the new channel. I'm on the IRC frequently, and rarely is there ever a conversation regarding the wiki itself. Taken directly from the wiki's IRC page:"The Kingdom Hearts Wiki's IRC channel is the wiki's main mode of socializing. It is used for chit-chat and is also a different and quicker way to notify a staff member about a problem with the wiki. It also, if possible, should be used for socialization with other users rather than through the use of users' talk pages." If it is used for chit-chat primarily, then what's the point of two channels? Note how problems are an also as well. The main mode of contacting an Admin or Mod about something is through their talk pages. That's what they're there for (considering we just outlawed socialization on them, they would have no use if we followed through with this plan.). If there is a large group that needs to voice their opinion on something, that's what The World That Never Was is for. There's no supported reason for a second channel, really.

True that, kupo. Once all the chitterchatter died down, the channel goes dead, kupo. A second or third channel is just pointless, kupo. Plus, we still discuss wiki stuff in the forums, kupo, and by far that's better since it's all recorded in the history and anyone can refer back to what was stated from there easily,

Just to put in my input I agree with KKD and Bluer.
Randomnessity Looks like you're prepared.

FA icon.png Yep, as they said, one channel suffices. I haven't got much to add on here.
