Defenders are enemies from Kingdom Hearts.
One of the Hollow Bastion Heartless, the Defender was essentially a Goofy-themed enemy and counterpart to the Wizard. Defenders had two minds; the Defender had a mind of its own. Though Defenders didn't do much themselves, their shields used Fire and Blizzard magic, blocked from attacks, and bit approaching targets. There was only a 0.2% chance that a Defender would leave behind its shield, which is equal to a 1 in 500 chance, making the sheild extremely rare!
The Defender is similar in many ways to the Lance Soldier from Kingdom Hearts II.
It is notable, that the Defender takes Goofy's defence build, and the Wizard takes Donald's magic build, but there is no enemy to finish the group and take Sora's power build.

Kingdom Hearts
Heartless that mostly appear in Hollow Bastion. They carry an eerie shield with a face that casts Fire and Blizzard and bites nearby enemies.
Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories
A Heartless that primarily resides in Hollow Bastion.
Its shield stops head-on physical and magical attacks, and can launch fireballs.
The Defender is also a skilled card user, and will break the cards of unprepared opponents.

Abilities
- Guards against frontal attacks with its dog-faced shield, though limit attacks can overcome this.
- Shoots fireballs at enemies for a mid-range attack.
- Sprays a freezing "breath" from the "mouth" of its Defender (shield).
- "Bites" nearby enemies with its shield.
- Swings its shield around once to knock away nearby enemies.
