:::::::::Irrelevant. The Dream Eater system was a core game mechanic, not a side quest like Mirage Arena multiplayer. It's a major plot point, most of the gameplay focuses on it, etc. It did Pokemon better than Pokemon does, honestly. Neutering one of the portions that made it so immersive would make the game worse, not better, and making the game HD would not be nearly enough to compensate. There's very little ''reason'' to make an HD version of 3D other than to say they could - unlike all the other games that have been HD'd, there's no Final Mix version to make the rerelease more popular with the international crowd, and they already wrote the game script with KH3 in mind so there's no need to add extra plot to help tie the games together.{{User:KrytenKoro/Sig}} 14:29, 11 September 2015 (UTC)

::::::I think that's not really fair considering the game switched engines and platforms many times. I'm honestly also not really interested in the new Final Fantasy XV anymore since Stella (and it seems most of the original story) had to go with Nomura. Kingdom Hearts III looks like it makes great progress but you should always keep in mind that it's a AAA main title on the main platforms, of course there has too be much more content and gameplay styles to be created than for BBS or DDD combined and that takes time. --{{User:ShardofTruth/Sig}} 06:38, 15 September 2015 (UTC)

What do you suppose it might be - if it's even real? Considering this is the second time it was unceremoniously whispered and hastily retracted, it's at least worth a speculation. HD port of KH3D? With maybe a KH3 demo/prologue/thingy ala Ground Zeroes? --Webber22 (talk) 20:28, 9 September 2015 (UTC)

That's also my guess. Since it's apparently coming for the PS3 and the PS4 the KH3D HD port will probably playable on both systems while the Kingdom Hearts 3 demo will only be a code to unlock it for the PS4 (similar to how it was done with Final Fantasy: Type 0 HD and the Final Fantasy XV demo). Kingdom Hearts III won't be released before Spring 2017 (probably later) and since we get a new Kingdom Hearts game every year now somehow, this will be 2016's release. Maybe it includes the 358/2 Days and Re:coded movies too, I think even BBSFM would be possible, but the chances are very slim for a PS4 port of KHIIFM and especially KHFM, since both games heavily rely on the PS3's ability to play PS2 games and were not rebuild in the same manner as the HD Remake of Final Fantasy X/X-2 was.
There are also rumors it might include BBS Volume 2 and another [chi] port. Personally I think BBS Volume 2 as a project is to huge to undertake and then release within two years with so litte promotion beforehand. The development of KH, KHII, Days, BBS and even CoM showed that the magazine coverage last 2-3 years before the game is released, so I think a full game is out of question, maybe another movie, that would be pretty cool to tie things together. As for another [chi] port, I don't think this will happen since Unchained basically is the only re-release we will get and considering Nomura's latest statement that we're only 15% in the main story (because there will 200 main quests in the end) it's probably to early for another movie. --ShardofTruth 05:44, 10 September 2015 (UTC)
Not really. Announcement dates and release dates are two different things. Perhaps this mystery project will come out by the time the Chi story is finished (or at least made decent headway), so it's possible to include bits and pieces. Though a personal wishlist of mine to keep things simple - KH3D remake/port/whatever!, the KH3 demo, and something like a "Kingdom Hearts Encyclopedia" that lets you read up on everything KH up to date, view character models, etc... You recall the Metal Gear Solid 4 Database from a while back? Something like that! Basically a super-robust Jiminy's Journal that includes entries from all the games so far. --Webber22 (talk) 15:40, 10 September 2015 (UTC)
...gotdammit, I just got to the end of 2.5 and finally got all the trophies on KH3D (Frequent Friend...erg). Either of these options pisses me off so much. That the developer says they worked on boss planning and game idea planning makes me feel like it has to be a new game. Also, 2.9 is a terrible name for a game -- it's hard enough communicating to friends that "1.5" is the first game to play, this 2.9 shit is going to just make it more confusing for new players.
I really, really, really hope that it's just a production name for a KH3 demo, or that the guy made a typo for KH3."We're werewolves, not swearwolves." (KrytenKoro) 16:09, 10 September 2015 (UTC)
That's a really specific typo! Considering he had to get three things wrong all at once lol. --Webber22 (talk) 20:37, 10 September 2015 (UTC)
Sure, but it doesn't really make sense to me to make another HD port of a game that just received an HD port. KH3D I can kind of see, but so much of the game would be lost converting touch controls to console controls--especially considering the Dream Eaters, where using your hands is not just a convenient way to control the stylus, but actually an immersive and emotional act."We're werewolves, not swearwolves." (KrytenKoro) 20:45, 10 September 2015 (UTC)
Am I the only one who sees Reality Shifts as incredibly easy to adapt to a standard PS3/4 controller? It's not complicated at all. As for the "Dream Eaters bonding" thing, well, compromise! The multiplayer in Mirage Arena was a pretty big draw in Birth by Sleep, and they ditched it in the HD remixes. Besides, very few people actually played the dream eater minigames in 3D - the fastest way to accrue board points was through battles and leveling anyhow. The biggest hurdle I see in 3D would actually be the maps - they're so huge that a minimap wouldn't even remotely suffice, yet an in-game map is necessary so you know where to find treasures and portals. --Webber22 (talk) 05:57, 11 September 2015 (UTC)
But if you can't play with the Dream Eaters, you can't change their dispositions, which affect their abilities in battles. TheSilentHero 06:45, 11 September 2015 (UTC)
These interactions didn't require the precision of a brain surgeon though. I think even a normal controller is perfectly able to emulate the motions needed to pet the Dream Eaters, they just need to get a bit slower so your hands don't break. Everything that is seen on the lower screen can either be put into a submenu or displayed on the main screen itself when it's the focus of the action. The DS and 3DS were always kind of gimmicky in this regard, just look what they've done to the 3D remakes of Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask. --ShardofTruth 10:24, 11 September 2015 (UTC)
Like I said, it's not the precision that makes it so important. Petting an "animal" is more immersive if you're using your hands, rather than a joggle stick."We're werewolves, not swearwolves." (KrytenKoro) 13:54, 11 September 2015 (UTC)
It's also more immersive if you're petting something that's actually fuzzy, and not a two-dimensional screen. :P --Webber22 (talk) 14:12, 11 September 2015 (UTC)
Irrelevant. If any game could benefit from an additional story expansion it's KH3D, the whole time travel plot together with the dream inside a dream setting is stretching my suspension of disbelief so thin you can see the memories of my heart's other side through it.
