"If the official name of a subject has been changed in later episodes of Kingdom Hearts, please use the first name. However, redirects can be made using the later names." Unless I'm wrong, and the Manual of Style needs to be updated (which, it probably does anyways).

The Manual of Style is severely in need of updating, yes. The policy from the MoS refers to subjects with multiple names, like the Rabid Dog ("Snapper Dog" in 358/2 Days). So Smee does not necessarily fit that. Still, as I said and FifteenthMember said, whichever name is the most "stable" (the one used in the game most often) is the one we should use.
