The Timeless River is a world from Kingdom Hearts II.

When Sora stepped into the door in the Hall of the Cornerstone, a surprise awaited him on the other side. The door took him back in time to when the world was still monochrome--and to before Disney Castle was built! Based on Vault Disney and, in most cases, Steamboat Willie, the Disney Castle of the past is known as the Timeless River.

The strange, twisted magic of the Timeless River made all those native to Disney castle that entered via the door go back to their youth. Donald Duck became a monochrome version of how he looked in The Wise Little Hen. Goofy became how he looked in his first cartoon as well. Sora, on the other hand, became a "Osamu Tezuka"-style version of how he looked in Kingdom Hearts.

With Pete's coming to the Timeless River, Heartless invaded the sacred land and captured the Cornerstone of Light. Because of this, the Disney Castle in the future became vulnerable to the Heartless. The Heartless found in the Timeless River are surrealistic and bizarre. Many of them are toy-like. Instances include the Hot Rod, which is a cartoonish car, and the Aeroplane, which is a toy airplane.

Sora and his friends encountered the Mickey Mouse of the past several times, along with the good (but equally rude) Pete of the past. The boss of the Timeless River was the bad Pete from the future (Pete from the past helped Sora in the battle).

During the original visit to the Timeless River, the world's battle level is 19. Later on, the battle level becomes 34. Its theme music is Monochrome Dreams, and its battle music is Old Friends, Old Rivals. In a way, the surreal Timeless River replaced Wonderland, which had appeared in all other Kingdom Hearts games.
