Chain of Memories?[edit]

I have a question... Why are the Chain of Memories and Re: Chain of Memories templates being used for this page? I thought the Twilight Town in Castle Oblivion was taken from Roxas's, and therefore Sora's, memory of the real Twilight Town, especially because the Simulated one hadn't been created yet... Okay, that's what I figured. Superdog1123 23:03, August 20, 2010 (UTC)Superdog1123

The reason why we put in simulated is because it's a facsimile of the original. Thus a simulation. But then again, I need clarification with the person who put it in... TROISNYX Symbol - Bell.png AMDG 01:13, August 21, 2010 (UTC)

It should be the real one, since Roxas only knew of the real one at this point. Com and Recom should not be on here.Glorious CHAOS! 15:48, August 21, 2010 (UTC)

Data Worlds[edit]

Do we need an article for all the data worlds in Re:coded and data fights a la "Simulated Twilight Town"?

  • Data fights: Twilight Town, Realm of Nothingness, TWTNW, Beast's Castle, Castle Oblivion, Destiny Islands, Hollow Bastion, Dive to the Heart
  • Recoded: Castle Oblivion, Hollow Bastion, Agrabah, Wonderland, Olympus, Traverse Town, Dive to the Heart, Destiny Islands, Hollow Bastion II/Data-Riku/Jiminy's Journal(?)

Personally, I say heck no, since there'd be nothing to those pages but a couple of lines, but perhaps a "Data world" page or "Data version" section on each of the above world pages? Eternal Flames KHD.pngChainoffirePizza Cut KHD.png 05:00, 21 February 2019 (UTC)

If we're handling those as versions of the world, rather than as portions of the uberworld (Castle Oblivion, Mickey's Datascape, Foreteller's Datascape), then sure."We're werewolves, not swearwolves." (KrytenKoro) 13:18, 21 February 2019 (UTC)

Rename[edit]

May I propose renaming this page to "Twilight Town Datascape" to maintain consistency with the other datascape pages? "Simulated Twilight Town" is never used in game, it's only called "the simulated town", "the other Twilight Town", "another Twilight Town", "virtual Twilight Town" or "a datascape". - 90.249.58.38 23:00, 18 June 2020 (UTC)

I'm proposing to rename this to either the "virtual Twilight Town" or the "alternate Twilight Town" (used in KH3 glossary for datascape). I don't know how "simulated Twilight Town" came to be and be accepted all these years. LightKeyDarkBlade (talk) 17:28, 13 November 2020 (UTC)

About Secret Ansem Report 12[edit]

In the 12th Secret Ansem Report, it says:

First I shall convert all of Twilight Town into data and construct a "world duplicate" in Sora's memories. I shall place Roxas within that world to live out his days and regain those memories.

As someone on Reddit explained for me:

Roxas was placed in the Data Twilight Town which was placed inside Sora's memories. Roxas was already in Sora, he just hadn't merged with him yet.

So... anyone have the courage to add that to this page and/or Roxas'?

--Mikoto (talk) 08:02, 3 January 2022 (UTC)

It doesn't really make sense to me. Like, if Roxas was already in Sora, how did Axel and the Nobodies get in? And why did it take several days for them to merge? But I checked the Japanese version of the report, and it says something similar.
Also, I don't see what "courage" has to do with adding info. TheSilentHero 13:20, 3 January 2022 (UTC)
I don't think DiZ means literally inside Sora's memories. Sora and co also travels to Data Twilight Town towards the end of KH2. I don't think the world exists inside Sora. - JTD95 (talk) 15:07, 3 January 2022 (UTC)
Apologies for the late reply, but here's the thread where I was discussing it on Reddit with another user: https://www.reddit.com/r/KingdomHearts/comments/rfalur/kingdom_hearts_general_qa_thread_december_13_2021/hp3lto6/?context=3
According to them, Sora went into his own memories to get to the Data Twilight Town towards the end of KH2, so they could use its corridor of darkness- the same one, I'm assuming, Axel (and possibly Namine?) used to go into Sora's memories to talk to Roxas.--Mikoto (talk) 11:48, 2 March 2022 (UTC)
I've brought this up with others, however I was unable to get a concrete explanation as to what exactly Ansem means when he says he constructed the duplicate Twilight Town "in" Sora's memories. In fact the explanation that made the most sense to me was that Ansem copy pasted Sora's memories into the basement lab computer and constructed the datascape within those memories, rather than it literally being inside of Sora. The thing is though, whether this is the case or if it's literally inside Sora, there's too much uncertainty here to write it down as fact.
What I would suggest for putting the information related to the secret report on a page is to write that Ansem the Wise describes the simulated Twilight Town as being constructed in Sora's memories (with the secret report as a reference), but not go into any further detail, as that would become speculation. After all, that is what is written by Ansem, but since he doesn't give any further detail about what that actually means, neither can we. Pureautism (talk) 07:43, 6 March 2022 (UTC)
I think that would be a good compromise. TheSilentHero 15:46, 6 March 2022 (UTC)
Yeah, before my talk with that Reddit user, I assumed the data Twilight Town was in fact on Ansem's computer. Me trying to figure out how Roxas in the data world merged with Sora in the real world was how this discussion came about... unless we're to assume Roxas possibly merging with a data reconstruction of Sora caused him to merge with the real Sora as well?--Mikoto (talk) 14:11, 7 March 2022 (UTC)

Rename to "The Other Twilight Town"[edit]

The current name, "Simulated Twilight Town", is never used in any official material. Melody of Memory gives us the first formal name for this world, "The Other Twilight Town", so I suggest that the page be moved because it's the only actual title given by the games. —Aid1043 18:49, 16 November 2023 (UTC)

Agreed. TheSilentHero 19:15, 16 November 2023 (UTC)
