Talk:Kingdom Hearts 0.2 Birth by Sleep -A fragmentary passage-

Title[edit]

Square Enix NA doesn't spell it out on their website, so there are the versions from the Japanese press material Kingdom Hearts 0.2 Birth by Sleep -A fragmentary passage-, the one from the NA press site Kingdom Hearts 0.2 Birth by Sleep – A Fragmentary Passage – and the spelling wikipedia uses Kingdom Hearts 0.2: Birth by Sleep–A Fragmentary Passage. So which one is correct? I'd go with the Japanese version. Same goes for Back Cover where sometimes the NA materials contains a "[chi] " which is never the case in the Japanese material. --ShardofTruth

there is no release date yet[edit]

the release date should be changed to tba. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 84.212.73.96 (talkcontribs)

We've been told by Square that it will be released in December."We're werewolves, not swearwolves." (KrytenKoro) 18:34, 28 July 2016 (UTC)
Yeah, it's been confirmed that it'll be releasing worldwide. Rex Ronald Rilander (talk) 18:37, 28 July 2016 (UTC)

As of the most recent demo[edit]

Can we please all remember that this big horking page exists, and that there is a fundamental difference between an interview with the author saying "we are putting this in the game" and information gleaned from the screenshot of a demo?"We're werewolves, not swearwolves." Game icons[edit]

Do we consider mentions of or refuse from a world to justify putting that world icon on a page? Should the BBS princess worlds be backdated to KH1 via scenery in End of the World? Does AFP actually depict or mention them?"We're werewolves, not swearwolves." (KrytenKoro) 14:05, 24 January 2017 (UTC)

Aqua does use the names Castle of Dreams and Enchanted Dominion, I'm not sure about Dwarf Woodlands, and the reports split the story per original world, so you have "Dark World: Castle of Dreams", "Dark World: Dwarf Woodlands", etc. I guess we could use game icons for that, but not for KH1, since that's just a cameo. Patch[edit]

I think we should have a collapsable patch notes section, myself. Granted I don't see too many changes on the horizon for 0.2, but it just seems like the responsible thing to do. --Ignis (talk) 19:04, 26 January 2017 (UTC)

Image naming[edit]

So, for images such as File:Aqua KH2.8HD.png, we need to establish a naming system here similar to what we do for images such as File:Riku (KH3D) KH3DHD.png/File:Sora (KHIIFM) KHIIHD.png. Chitalian mentioned a disliking for having periods in image titles, however, I'm not seeing a way around it. Suggestions: "File:WHO (KHBBSAFM) KHHDII.8.png" or "File:Who (KH0.2BBS) KHHDII.8.png" Xion4ever 03:54, 31 January 2017 (UTC)

Unchained uses "KH0.2", so I think we should do the same. I also think we should move the KH3DHD to "KHDDDHD", since the 3D part is removed from the title. And since that means neither of the two are already used, we don't need the KHHDII.8 part.
So in my opinion, they should be named "Aqua KH0.2.png" and "Riku KHDDDHD.png". TheSilentHero 11:25, 31 January 2017 (UTC)
I am once again expressing my sincere and strong opposition to having separate tags for "HD"."We're werewolves, not swearwolves." (KrytenKoro) 16:04, 31 January 2017 (UTC)
My memory is a bit fuzzy over the last time we had this discussion. Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't we start using/adding the different tags because the HD images used different character positions or something? If we wanted, we could remove these tags and simply add ## to it- similar to what we do for cutscenes....So, in the previously mentioned Sora/Riku images: "Sora ## KH3D.png." As for trying to avoid HD tags for the in-question Aqua image: Follow the previously mentioned "new" naming system; "Aqua (however we decide to abbreviate 0.2 BBS).png;" or something entirely different. I'm down for whatever we decide, but let's decide and put this in the MoS so we have it officially in writing. Xion4ever 01:42, 1 February 2017 (UTC)
As far as I know, parser-wise it was never anything more than not wanting to just replace the original image. Which I proposed (and got acceptance for, I thought) simply using a template similar to Memomory-Alpha's where we note on the image description that it's an HD upgrade to a previously uploaded image, which we have uploaded over. As far as new poses, those woul probably be like "Sora (HD pose) KH3D.png"."We're werewolves, not swearwolves." (KrytenKoro) 04:03, 1 February 2017 (UTC)
We disagreed over HD parsers, you're right Kryten, but DDDHD is the new title of the remaster, so it absolutely fits in this case. --ShardofTruth 18:36, 1 February 2017 (UTC)
Okay, so it's an "FM" treatment. That's fine for DDDHD, then."We're werewolves, not swearwolves." (KrytenKoro) 14:49, 7 February 2017 (UTC)
Are we still in disagreement over the HD parsers? Unless it is an entirely new game or pose, this is only a problem for any images that are the same game/pose and are from a remake (unless the remake is given a different name). Briefly looking through the image categories, I'm not seeing any such images. Judging between Category:Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 ReMIX character images and Category:Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 ReMIX character images, we switched our naming system up for 2.5... 1.5's images seem to disregard what "sub-game" they are from, instead grouping any new images into a general "KHHD" category. Would we rather do the same for 2.5? Regarding 2.8, we seem to be following the following naming schemas: KHXBC & KH3DHD. Any propositions for "A fragmentary passage?" Xion4ever 03:26, 3 February 2017 (UTC)
I already suggested using KH0.2 and the official website uses that too. TheSilentHero 08:25, 3 February 2017 (UTC)
I have been in disagreement about using KHHD this whole time. It erases the actual context of the image to specify mere graphical quality."We're werewolves, not swearwolves." (KrytenKoro) 15:56, 3 February 2017 (UTC)
