Issues: A general better write up

The Survival Cup is a race in Kingdom Hearts Chain of Memories and Kingdom Hearts Re:Chain of Memories. The cup serves as the main storyline for Olympus Coliseum.

Story[edit]

Shortly upon their arrival in Olympus Coliseum, Sora, Donald, and Goofy find an announcement about the "Olympus Coliseum Survival Cup." It is revealed that the current, and undefeated, champion of the cup is Hercules. The group decides to participate in the tournament and finds Phil, who informs the group of the cup rules and the qualifying preliminary round. After passing the preliminary round, there are a total of five participants: Cloud, Hercules, Sora, Donald, and Goofy. Halfway through the challenge, Sora runs into Cloud, who has apparently been waiting for Hercules. Cloud tells Sora to go on, revealing his true intention of killing Hercules. Sora and Cloud fight, with Sora the victor. Despite his loss, Cloud flees towards the finish line and is able to face off against Hercules. By the time, Sora catches up, Cloud and Hercules have already begun fighting. Despite being outmatched, Cloud refuses to surrender, as Hades promised to restore his lost memories should Hercules be removed. Hades arrives and dismisses Cloud from their agreement. Hades prepares to fight the already-weakened Hercules, but is instead fought and defeated by Sora.

Rules[edit]

The cup rules are very basic. Contestants are placed on an obstacle course and must battle each other as they progress. There is a preliminary course the contestants must first pass in order to proceed to the main race. The preliminary is passed once Sora uses the "Key to Beginnings" card. The cup rules are as follows:

  • Rule #1: First one through the obstacle course wins!
  • Rule #2: In the event of a tie, a battle will determine the winner!
  • Rule #3: You can interfere with your opponents on the course!
  • Rule #4: All challengers have to give it everything they got!
