Book of Retribution KHD.png So in one of our previous Roundtables, it was decided that in order to clean up the Theater Mode page, we should create individual articles for the cutscenes in each Kingdom Hearts game (or at least the ones that have a Theater Mode of any kind...). In Ruin and Creation's Passage (my sandbox), I have created several drafts for what these articles might look like. I was not sure whether or not we wanted individual articles for every cutscene, or just articles for every individual game. I have drafts and ideas listed in my sandbox for both. Everything is listed here. Do tell me what you think! I volunteer myself to lead what I affectionately call "Project:Cutscene."

While I don't think it's necessary to have individual pages on each cutscene (for the reasons I brought up in the original roundtable), I do like the table. Perhaps we can include collapsible galleries as we have multiple images for most cutscenes.

Kingdom Key KHD.png Yeah, I misinterpreted the roundtable last night when I started the rough drafts. That's why the first thing I did when I logged in this morning was put together that table. While we do have multiple cutscene images, I find that many of them are unsatisfactory in comparison to others, as well as that some of them aren't that good at illustrating the cutscenes as they could be. I feel like KHHD and KHIIHD screenshots should be used, since those images are the most recent and high-quality; the images we use do not necessarily have to be from the game in question. So what you're suggesting is kinda like the idea I had for a "Memorable Moments" section. What should we do for games like 358/2 Days and Re:coded, given their movie versions?

I'd imagine that we use the most recent screenshots that we have. If we don't have the HD screenshot, we can use the images from the older games as a placeholder until someone uploads the updated shot.

Book of Retribution KHD.png I meant in terms of the extra cutscenes that were added. The KHHD version of Days is technically separate from the actual game version of Days. Thus I feel there should perhaps be a sub-heading for KHHD with its own table of cutscenes. As for the screenshots used in these articles, they should effectively illustrate a key moment from the cutscenes from which they are taken. For instance, this isn't as good at illustrating the cutscene it belongs to as this. My point is, some screenshots (which the Wiki does not have many of, I might add) are better at illustrating the major points of a cutscene and "getting the point across" than others. I was just saying the HD screenshots are a preferable source for images since they are of the highest quality. We shouldn't be using just any old image from a particular cutscene to illustrate it, in short.

TheFifteenthMember Ignoring how these caterpillars uttered what they're trying to say, I do agree. TheFifteenthMember 21:55, 9 January 2015 (UTC)
Unless the KHHD version remodelled the Theatre Mode completely and changed already existing scenes drastically, we include the new cutscenes in the same table as Days and simply mark each of them with a [KH I HD] tag.

Nobody.pngEternal Nothingness XIIINobody.png So...it seems your hearts have led you to obliteration. Perhaps it doesn't pay to be too loyal to one's heart. I will have to be sure and remember that. — 04:15, 10 January 2015 (UTC)
Interdiction KHD.png Obviously the cutscenes from the original Days are not changed "drastically." They just received a graphical update and were recycled. Using [KH I HD] is fine, but part of me says that would be too many tags in a single table...we're dealing with almost a whole second game worth of cutscenes that were added to Days in KHHD.

2YTDwh4.png I actually worked on all of the KHHD Days cutscenes for Project: Music, and the only differences I got were some slight variations in the music and few music changes. The visual changes were just the higher quality, so I don't see the need to add the thingy at the end of each sentence in the corner. Compared cutscenes from KH13.

Lunatic KHD.png I believe we would be using [KH I HD] to state "Even though these cutscenes are all on our Days page/table, these ones were in the original game, while these were exclusive to the KHHD version."

Nobody.pngEternal Nothingness XIIINobody.png The fun is in not knowing, isn't it? What is the point of betting on something if you already know the outcome? — 03:28, 27 August 2015 (UTC)
Fair Game KHD.png I would like to get started with this project; the goal is still to trim the Theater Mode page so that it only covers the basics of what "Theater Mode" actually is. On the page, in addition to listing the games that have a Theater Mode, we would link to sub-pages containing tables that depict and describe these games' cutscenes.

Here in my Sandbox, I have created an example for the Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days cutscene table (I may have linked to this above already). The table presently only includes images the Wiki has that would illustrate the DS version of the game's cutscenes; it was decided, however, in the conversation above that the table would also include KHHD scenes that are labeled as exclusive to the KHHD film. I would like to suggest as a "rule of thumb" for this project that if an HD remake of a game exists, we grab screenshots ONLY from these cutscenes due to their higher quality. Below, I've linked to several Days images that I have captured from KHHD to illustrate the DS version of the game's scenes (which would form the basis of the Days table):

I was originally working on this project with TheFifteenthMember, but he is now too busy to contribute. I am re-activating this forum to officially try to launch Project:Cutscene and ask for help in the following areas:

  • Creating sub-pages for each game with a Theater Mode
  • Creating tables like the one in my Sandbox on each sub-page created
  • Tidying up the Theater Mode page to be as concise as possible without being redundant to the sub-pages
  • Finding images to illustrate all cutscenes and then upload them to the Wiki so that they can be used

With TheFifteenthMember's support, I was going to upload the images I've linked to above to the Wiki. However, I was not sure what to name these files since some of the scenes from which I grabbed images are in multiple games or already have images on the Wiki in A) a lower quality or B) HD format from another game.

I would greatly appreciate the community's help with this task. Thank you!
