After your Dive to the Heart, Data-Sora is taken to Destiny Islands.
You are first introduced to Bug Blox by Selphie. After the cutscene, talk to her again to start a side quest, where you must destroy a number of Blox. Then, go west to find Wakka. He will ask you to destroy a Rare Prize Blox on a floating platform of Metal Blox. Do so to obtain a HP+ 2 chip and be introduced to types of Blox. Install the chip into your Stat Matrix and report back to Wakka. He will ask you to find Tidus, who is on a small island out-shore. Jump above the hut to trigger a cutscene and by the end, you'll need to find your first backdoor. This one is located in the part of the wall that the cloaked man walked into. Once you've found the portal, enter it and you'll be introduced to the concept of a System Sector. To complete this one, just defeat all the enemies and then redeem your rewards.

You will see that the bridge to the far-off island has been returned. Go the the small island and meet Tidus who will challenge you in a battle. Defeat him.
