Guard Break allows the user to hop back and then thrust forward with the Keyblade, piercing through their defenses.

Guard Break (ストライドブレイク Sutoraido Bureiku?, lit. "Stride Break"), translated as Lunge 'n' Launch in Kingdom Hearts III, is a technique introduced in Kingdom Hearts II. It allows the user to unleash a powerful finishing combo move while piercing through an enemy's guard.

Mechanics

In Kingdom Hearts II, Guard Break is an action ability exclusive to Sora that costs 3 AP to equip. It is a ground combo finisher that activates if Sora is attacking a single enemy, or by default if Explosion is not equipped. It allows Sora to pierce a single target's guard with a short, powerful thrust, launching them into the air and dealing Neutral damage.
