The Land of Departure (ランド・オブ・デパーチャー Rando obu Depāchā) is a World that will be featured in the upcoming Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep. It is the original "hub" world of Birth by Sleep, similar to Kingdom Hearts's Traverse Town and Kingdom Hearts II's Hollow Bastion. It is in this world that young Keyblade apprentices take their Master's Exam.
Setting
The Land of Departure is shown in recent artwork to be set high in grassy mountains, surrounded by flowing water. High in one of these mountains is a castle, the strange and golden building decorated with stain glass windows and being strangely lop-sided, giving it a look similar to Castle Oblivion. The building itself decreases in width as it reaches the ground, tall spires protruding from the roof.
