Glide is an ability that allows Sora to almost fly and it can be used to travel faster or evade enemies. In all cases, this ability is activated by hitting Circle + Square (or X + Square in the Japanese versions and Final Mixes).

Appearances

Kingdom Hearts

In Kingdom Hearts, Sora learns Glide after sealing the Keyhole in Neverland. You can upgrade this ability by defeating Chernabog in the End of the World. After you defeat Chernabog you receive a new ability called Superglide. In Kingdom Hearts, all of your party members receive this ability. These abilities require no ability points.

Kingdom Hearts Re:Chain of Memories

In Kingdom Hearts Re:Chain of Memories, Sora can obtain the ability Glide by using a Key To Rewards card on the Neverland floor. Later in the game, Sora obtains the ability's stronger form, Superglide. Similarly, he must use a Key To Rewards card on the 13th and final floor, Castle Oblivion.

Kingdom Hearts II

In Kingdom Hearts II, you can receive the Glide ability from leveling up Final Form. You can upgrade the Glide ability by further leveling up the Final Form. There is Glide LV1, Glide LV2, Glide LV3 and Glide MAX. You can only get up to LV3 while in Sora's Normal Form, while Final Form gets up to MAX. It costs three AP.

Growth

Level Normal Final
1 Level up to Level 3 Already learned
2 Level up to Level 5 Level up to level 3
3 Level up to Level 7 Level up to Level 5
MAX Cannot be learned Level up to Level 7

It should be noted that only Glide LV3 and Glide MAX can allow Sora to permanently stay aloft on a flat surface; while he is using Glide LV1 and LV2, he cannot do so and will eventually stand back on his two feet within a short time.

Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days

In Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days, Roxas and the rest of the playable characters can have the ability to glide through the air in all worlds once the Glide panel is obtained and equipped. In Neverland, Tinker Bell sprinkles a glowing dust (known as "Pixie Dust" by the characters of the Disney film, "Peter Pan") on Roxas so that he can fly in this world. After his first mission in Neverland, Roxas gains the Glide panel. This ability is physically alike shared ability Superglide from Kingdom Hearts.

There's also an ability accessible by Panels called "Float". It is gained through synthesis for one Adamantite, two Aerial Tech++, and 8800 Munny. This ability is similar to the shared ability Glide from Kingdom Hearts. It is to be linked to High Jump.
