Sorry about the long title, there's no better way to put it. (man, this plot is confusing...)

Anyways, I've hit a bump in the character articles I've been working on. I was editing Sora and Roxas' story sections for Kingdom Hearts II and I reached the point where Roxas says to Sora "Tell me why he picked you!"

Now on the Roxas article, we originally said that "he" was referring to "Keyblade"; but that doesn't really make sense, so we decided it meant Axel. But that doesn't really make sense either considering the next line "oh, thats why."

Long story short, we need a consensus on what this scene means.

OPXion4EverIcon.png Confusing plot is confusing. My guess on what Roxas meant when he said "Tell me why he picked you" is a reference to Riku, maybe even Xemnas.

Why Riku: One thing encountered during Days was waking up Sora. Riku was the main push of this. Fast-forward to when Riku confronted Roxas in the World That Never Was (this is the ending to Days). Here, Riku ordered Roxas to come with him. Why? To help wake up Sora. Fast-forward to the Kingdom Hearts II battle. Now, Roxas could be demanding why Riku chose Sora over himself. Pretty understandable from Roxas' point.

Why Xemnas: It's obvious the Organization was interested in a Keyblade weilder. Days stated this over and over again. When Roxas didn't meet par, they favored Xion and vice versa. Meanwhile, Sora was the most sought after prize. As Days progressed, the Organization grew tired of having both Roxas and Xion, and sought to have only one (think to the Halloween Town mission where Roxas was fighting a "Heartless" [actually Xion]). When Xion left the Organization, they had Roxas. When Roxas turned out to be a failure, they went back to wanting Sora. During the Kingdom Hearts II battle Roxas may be asking Sora why Xemnas favored Sora over himself.

Just confusing ideas from my point.

TALK -
It is in reference to Axel.

Axel originally planned to turn Sora back into a Heartless, retrieving Roxas. However, after being touched by Sora's heart, he decided to help Sora instead.

Roxas is initially confused, as it appears to him that Axel has betrayed him for some stranger. However, during the battle he himself is touched by Sora's heart, realizes what had happened to Axel, and accepts that it was a good thing.

Sora's heart is much like Roxas's -- like Axel said, even Nobodies feel like they have emotions when they're around him. It's an overflowing love and friendship that is able to touch even the untouchable.
