....did i say a week? I meant like three weeks..or 20 days. Well lets put that matter aside and just do this.

Beast's Castle

Equipping stuff

Now since you are already there go to the synthesize shop and buy two Sardonyx Rings and put them on Sora and Goofy and one Silver Ring for Donald.

Now just a bit on abilities since we have pretty much started the game itself, for Sora have these on: Guard, Scan, Aerial Recovery and Combo Boost. If you want you can also un-equip one of those abilities and get Experience Boost, i recommend Guard since you don't always need it and jumping to dodge is easier. As Donald only has two abilities Thunder and Cure just leave it like it is. Goofy also only has two which are Goofy Bash and Item Boost, again leave it like it is for the time being.

Heartless hunt

Alright with that done head out to the Entrance Hall (go out of the room you are in).

Donald will say he saw a lady walking up the top of the stairs above us, Goofy figures it must be Belle which is correct. So anyway lets go hunting after the pretty lady in the yellow dress. Alright my first rule in the game what is it? That's right search and destroy every heartless in sight. Why? For the EXP of course.

If you have KH 358/ 2 Days this might be familiar to you as most missions in the game have you search out for heartless and destroy them. Now just a warning,in the Ball Room there will be about 6 somewhat tough heartless so be careful you might die once even tough they are not bosses but its also a good place to you Valor Form so you can level it up cause once you get Valor Form to level 3 you get High Jump and its always good to have that.

I'm guessing while killing these heartless you may have leveled up and if you have done everything i have said trough out this walktrough you should now be in Level 12 and you just gained the ability Magic Lock-On, unless you like using magic don't equip it. Oh and by the way outside in the Courtyard there are a few chests, the one in the west has a Hi-Potion, the one in north has a Mythril Shard and the one in the north east has an AP Boost which you can use to get that EXP Boost, of course these chests aren't gonna just be happily waiting for you there are Heartless all over the place just waiting to strike.

After you have that done with go up the stairs to the right.

Lets go save the...servants?

Before going be sure to get the Mythril Shard and Castle Map in Belle's Room. You can also save if you want which i recommend for no other reason then just to be save (Get it?).

In the hallway we will see a few more Heartless and some chests one has a Tent the other a Hi-Potion. Remember to go to the Ball Room again to fight a few heartless again.

Now go into the west wing and into the west hall (Left). There are a few chests here and there which you can easily find. After you have found them go to the wardrobe that's blocking a green door. And of course the wardrobe is alive yes i see it makes a mini-game, move the stupid wardrobe out of the way while its asleep and leave it alone when it wakes up for a moment then goes back to sleep. Well the wardrobe pisses me of when its asleep and when its awake.

Anyway there is a boss trough the door so make sure you have items on you and that Sora has three drive gauge's to enter Valor Form. If not go to your items select drive recovery and use it. Now lets go.

The Possessor/Thresholder

Boss Battle : Possessor/Thresholder
Possessor KHII.png
Thresholder KHII.png

Possesor

HP: 98

Difficulty: 1/5

Reaction Commands: None

Thresholder

HP: 137

Difficulty: 2/5

Reaction Commands: Release

As soon as the battle starts run at the Thresholder and jump just before it attacks with its hammer-like attack and use the Valor Form to take it out. Once the Thresholder is down use the reaction command to get the Possessor out and attack it, the Possessor is harmless. Repeat this about one or two times to win. Of course there will be Heartless in the way and the Thresholder is no child's play so be wary and heal when needed.

For winning you get

  • Sora: Upper Slash (A Ability
  • Donald: Fire
  • Goofy: HP Boost

Equip Fire and go inside.

Trough the door we meet more things....that are the...servants? Strange. Anyway just watch the cutscene, get the chests and Save Up!.

Lets take a "Shortcut"

Alright go back a room and up the pile of wardrobes and talk to Cogsworth. Apparently this is suppose to be a shortcut but going trough that tunnel takes 10x more time then going back to the main hall and up the small staircase!

Here comes a mini-game that is hard for some easy to most. In the Final Mix version its harder tough. The game explains this simple mini-game rather well but just in case let me explain as well.

Simply run trough the place looking for darkness tainted lanterns and wait a second or two for Lumiere and Mrs. Potts and then use the reaction command Sprinkle to light them. Cogsworth will be holding down the lever for the lanterns and like the cutscene clearly said, he wont be able to hold on forever (why don't Donald or Goofy hold on to it?).

  • The first one is right in front of you near the box.
  • The second is too the right near a lot of boxes
  • The third is behind a crowd of boxes which you will need to attack your way trough.

And then you're done! Cogsworth's bar was about 1/3 done by the time i finished and yours should not have been much different.

Before heading out turn around and get those two chests (cant possibly not see them) who hold nothing new, and another chest just at the exit holding a Mega-Potion Now proceed to the West Hall.

Get the AP Boost that's between those gargoyles but watch out as one of them comes alive.

Now continue trough the big blue door. You will be greeted by another gargoyle and a few Hook Bats, now get the chest with the Tent in it and go up the staircase and destroy the two attacking gargoyles and get the chest that contains another Mythril Shard and continue your way trough that small hallway which contain more Heartless. Proceed trough the door once you have finished of the Heartless.

Watch the cutscene and then fight the Beast.

Boss Battle : Beast
HP: 156
Difficulty: 1/5
Reaction Command: Wake up!, Charge!

Use the Wake Up! RC to calm down Beast for a few seconds and attack, you can only use it while he has that purple redish aura around him. Beast can dish out damaging attack but don't worry as Donald will keep you healthy.

Once his HP has been depleted use the RC Charge to end the fight.

For winning you get

  • Sora: Armor Slot
  • Donald: HP
  • Goofy: Defender (A Ability)

Our new party member

Party Member : Beast

Weapon: Claws

Type: Physical

Limit: Howling Moon

Beast hails from the oh so famous movie "Beauty and the Beast". First a selfish prince then a raging Beast, and finally a human prince again, a kind one this time. I bet most of you have watched the original movie but big chances are you weren't born in the late 80's or early 90's and thus never saw it. I was lucky enough to have a older sister who owns a VHS version of the movie. But you guys basically know the story now, seen the movie or not, the game itself has explained about why he's a Beast and what he needs to do.

Anyway as a Party Member Beast is obviously a physical type. Beast has good strength so its a good decision to replace Goofy with him and keep Donald (we need Cure) as much as it pains me since we wont have Valor form, but you can always not have him OR press the left directional button too switch menus and switch party members in the heat of battle (which the game also explains). Beast is much like Goofy only more strength and a little less support boost.

Beast will come with the Howling Moon Limit which i have never liked, try it out and if you don't like it you can go to Beast's abilities and take of both the limit itself and Auto-Limit which makes the Limit a RC while near enemies, this ability has screwed me over and saved me numerous times. But here i will explain Beast's limit and then limits themselves not in Beasts box. Beast's Limit consist of Beast roaring at first knocking every enemy away and stuns them, next Beast and Sora go on a rampage stomping around until finally Beast and Sora let out a final Roar. You can also go to the journal to learn more about how to use the specific Limit.

Save Up! cause.....we are continuing this page and are on our way to finish this place once and for all!

Limits

Alright about Limits. Limits are special team attacks comprised of Sora and a party member. Every party member in the game has one, Donald and Goofy have two (which i have told you about before), using a Limit depleted Sora's entire MP bar which is the part that has screwed me over and over again, on the other hand during a Limit you and your teammate are invincible so it might be a good idea to use a Limit if an attack you cant dodge is coming up to defend yourself, but hang on for a second, if you don't attack the Limit bar will empty thus rendering your Limit short and useless but as long as you keep attacking it will deplete slower. I recommend you test out Beast's limit for a bit if you want to get more comfortable with them. If not, just like i said earlier, you can turn the Limit ability and Auto Limit ability off.

It doesn't end until the big Heartless falls!

Before heading out turn around and get the chest which contains Mega-Recipe.

Now go to Belle's room, you should know your way around by now.

I'd like to explain how to defeat a few new Heartless, the Lancer is a weird one, it has wacky movements that's hard to predict since the lance has a mind of its own, if you happen to see the Reaction Command Lance Tug activate it to grab a hold of the lance and Sora will fly about until it will finally crash yielding a bunch of Drive Orbs.

Another is the Large Body, this one can be a toughy as its front side is invincible so you can only attack its head or backside, if it goes into the air a RC called Full Swing will appear that deals heavy damage to it. After it has taken damage it will go into berserk mode and will start sliding on its stomach Penguin Style! Use the RC Guard (not the ability) and follow up with Kickback and finish it with Full Swing.

Once inside Belle's Room Approach the wardrobe for a cutscene. Save Up! again and head to the Entrance Hall for another cutscene. Go to the Ball Room and prepare for a awesome boss battle!

Boss Battle : Shadow Stalker
HP: 176
Difficulty: 2/5
Reaction Commands: Release

It will start by possessing the room itself and then attack using some kind of flashes of energy that come from the windows, retreat to the pillars or jump between the attack to avoid them, next it will possess the chandelier which will come crashing down so don't be directly under it, it will then proceed to slowly spin with a damaging beam coming out of it, deplete its health and Release it and then proceed to attack it, next it will either posses a pillar which is rather harmless but take care of it and Release it to deal more damage, or it will go into the floor and a flash of light will appear under Sora, jump immediately to avoid this deadly attack. It will repeat this until its dead.

Boss Battle : Dark Thorn
HP: 390
Difficulty: 3/5
Reaction Commands: Stepvault Catch Pendulum Round Slingshot

That's right its not over! This time its a whole lot bigger and thus its attacks are a lot stronger, but its much easier to attack it.

It will start by turning invisible, its not hard to find it and attack so perform a combo and then perform the awesome Stepvault then follow up with Catch and end it with Pendulum Round which will decloak it and leaving it exposed to attacks.

Among it's attacks are simple swipes and other more dangerous once which include summoning little possessors for a short amount of time, a spin attack. After a while it will turn invisible again which allows you to do the RC chain again. It might at some point grab and throw you at a pillar, which opens up the RC Slingshot which is a counter-attack, and an effective one at that.

It might also use an attack that consists of it jumping on the chandelier and spinning it, this can be countered by simply striking the chandelier once which knock the Dark Thorn off.

For winning you get

  • Sora: HP Boost
  • Retaliating Slash
  • Donald: HP Boost
  • Goofy: Item Slot
  • Beast: HP Boost

Somehow it occurs to Sora to pull out his Keyblade to unlock a new path, goody. You get the most useful spell in the game Cure, hurray! Unfortunately it costs all of Sora's MP but its worth it.

Congratulations! You just finished the first part of Beast's Castle.

Press the start button to Save up! cause this page is finally DONE!
