Not 100% until I can translate the journal entry, but "Arch" simply doesn't make any sense in relation to the character, while Arc references quite a few things about it.

Most people on the web are saying that it's Arch, so I don't know.

Kharon - "Not even the deepest darkness can shroud the connection our hearts share." TALK - "My inner darkness saved me when I needed help the most." Prehaps the name is refrencing arch as in a kind of rank.
