The Wargoyle mainly attacks by using Hammer Rage. Its other attack has it use Chain Wheel, attempting to hit Sora multiple times. Both of these attacks will occasionally cause Wargoyle to lose its balance and fall over, vulnerable to attacks. Beware though, as Wargoyle will recover with Berserk Revenge, dealing damage if Sora is too close. Berserk Revenge is nonetheless blockable, giving Sora the opportunity to land a Counter Rush if he anticipates the attack correctly.

Wargoyle also attacks by swinging its twins guns together with Chain Strike, and rains fireballs down from the sky with Bazooka Firaga. As the Nightmare's health dwindles, its attacks become more ferocious. Its Hammer Rage attack creates small pillars of flame in its general direction, and it will combine its attack with its Bazooka Firaga, making it hard to avoid and in some cases, Block, due to the attacks sometimes hitting behind him. So long as Sora dodges the boss's attacks, counters, and heals frequently, Wargoyle will be defeated.
