Thunder, Thundara, and Thundaga magic are spells that appear in Kingdom Hearts, Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories, Kingdom Hearts II, Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days, Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep, and Kingdom Hearts coded. They utilize the element of Lightning, and are associated with the Lightning material, despite their name. Thunder spells summon lightning bolts from the sky to rain down on their target.
Thunder, Thundara, and Thundaga are a series of magic introduced in Kingdom Hearts. They utilize the element of Lightning, and are associated with the Lightning material. Thunder spells summon lightning bolts from the sky to rain down on enemies, dealing Thunder-type damage.

In Kingdom Hearts 0.2 Birth by Sleep -A fragmentary passage- and Kingdom Hearts III, Thundaza, also translated as Thundaja, appears as an even more powerful tier.

Thunder is used much differently than its other incarnations. The user casts a ring of lightning around them, and any enemies inside the ring are struck by lightning. However with advanced Thunder spells such as Thundara and Thundaga, the ring grows larger and the effect of the jolt on the enemy's HP grows stronger.

Story
It is available to all three characters.
Kingdom Hearts
Donald Duck casts a Thunder spell to wake up a sleeping Goofy.

Mechanics
Another spell exclusive to Aqua and similar to Thunder is called Thundaga Shot, which causes a ball of revolving Thunder energy to hover across the battle area and hit an enemy, causing a ring of thunder to appear around the target. This spell is basically Thundaga with an aiming addition.
Kingdom Hearts
In Kingdom Hearts, Thunder is offensive magic that can be used by Sora and Donald. Thunder calls down bolts of lightning to strike the target area. It is useful for hitting a group of enemies a distance. The higher-tier Thundara and Thundaga call down greater numbers of more powerful lightning bolts. Thunder costs 1 MP to use.

Genie may cast Thunder as part of his Showtime ability.
*Thunder is a Basic Magic Command that takes up one slot in the Command Deck, has a maximum level is 3, a reload time of 10 seconds, and fills the Command Gauge by 20%.
*Thundara is a Basic Magic Command that takes up one slot in the Command Deck, has a maximum level is 3, a reload time of 10 seconds, and fills the Command Gauge by 25%.
*Thundaga is an Advanced Magic Command that takes up one slot in the Command Deck, has a maximum level is 4, a reload time of 15 seconds, and fills the Command Gauge by 30%.

Thunder magic can be used to activate certain objects in the field, including the exposed wires in the Third District that activate the platforms inside the Gizmo Shop, certain kind of flowers in Wonderland, and the stone tablet on the upper level of the Entrance Hall that activates the moving platforms.<!--anything else?-->

Thunder was the first magic ability seen, where it was used by Donald to awaken a sleeping Goofy.

Kingdom Hearts Chain of Memories
In Kingdom Hearts, Thunder was a more powerful and also more costly spell than Fire or Blizzard, summoning a barrage of lightning bolts from above to strike the surrounding enemies at the cost of 1 MP bar.

In Kingdom Hearts Chain of Memories, Thunder is a Magic Card that can be used by Sora.

The Genie Summon Card, the Donald and Jack Skellington Friend Cards, and their associated sleights can cast Thunder magic when used. Larxene also uses Thundara as her magic attack.

In Kingdom Hearts 0.2 Birth by Sleep -A fragmentary passage-, Thundaga is a default offensive spell that summons a cluster of lightning strikes at the targeted enemy, inflicting damage to anything caught in the radius.
In Kingdom Hearts II, Thunder is approximately equal to the other base elemental spells Fire and Blizzard in power. Thunder has decreased in power in Kingdom Hearts II, as opposed to Fire and Blizzard, which have increased in power from their incarnations in Kingdom Hearts. The spell summons a single lightning bolt to strike an enemy and an area-of-effect that is expanded with each upgrade.

Repeatedly casting Thundaga results in the Thundaja Situation Command, in which Aqua creates a hail of stronger lightning bolts that shock the entire area around her.
A new ability, Thunder Boost, appearing in Kingdom Hearts II increases the amount of damage caused by lightning-elemental spells. Although it may be learned by leveling up, it is also a passive ability acquired when equipping the Photon Debugger keyblade.

Kingdom Hearts III
Characters who cast Thunder magic in Kingdom Hearts II:
In Kingdom Hearts III, Thunder magic works much the same way as in 0.2. Thunder, Thundara, and Thundaga are magic spells that unleash a cluster of lightning strikes at the targeted enemy, dealing Thunder damage to all enemies in the surrounding area. Enemies hit by Thunder magic will be inflicted with the Electrified status effect, with Thunder inflicting it for 5 seconds, Thundara for 7 seconds, and Thundaga and Thundaza for 10 seconds. The area and intensity of the lightning strikes varies depending on the tier used. Thunder consumes 14 MP, Thundara 20 MP, and Thundaga 28 MP. Repeatedly casting Thundaga in battle can result in the Thundaza Situation Command, which summons a larger and more intense thunderstorm.

In Kingdom Hearts Dark Road, Thunder and Thundaga are magic abilities that deal Lightning damage.

In Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days, Thunder sends out a straight line of lightning before the caster. Thundara resembles Thunder magic as it appears in Kingdom Hearts, in which lightning strikes randomly around the caster for a brief period of time. Thundaga invokes a single, enormous bolt of lightning to strike the target.

Kingdom Hearts Melody of Memory
Kingdom Hearts coded
In Kingdom Hearts Melody of Memory, Thundaga is an Ability used by Sora. It is triggered when activating an Ability Crystal against an airborne foe, and consists of Sora casting a single thunderbolt on the enemy.
In Kingdom Hearts coded, the Thunder license may be used from the Hero's License.

During the final battle against Master Xehanort, Sora has Thundaga as an Ability that may trigger when activating an Ability Crystal. As in Kingdom Hearts III, Sora casts a hail of thunderbolts on the enemy.
