Talk:Unknown (disambiguation)

From the Kingdom Hearts Wiki: A world of information not accessible by Gummiship

Should this be moved to "Unknown", or at least "The Unknown" (without the disambiguation)? TheSilentHero 17:53, 30 October 2016 (UTC)

You're right, "disambiguation" should be removed from the page title, not sure about the article. --ShardofTruth 07:51, 1 November 2016 (UTC)
Both Xemnas and YX are called "Unknown", without "The". TheSilentHero 17:58, 1 November 2016 (UTC)
Then I'm all for moving it to just "Unknown". --ShardofTruth 09:47, 2 November 2016 (UTC)
Has this concept simply been abandoned then? Also, I would just like to point out that Luxu's identity has never really been unknown. He never appeared to be hiding his identity, he isn't even mentioned prior to the final episode of KHX where Ava seeks him out, only vaguely referred to via rough translation (where Chirithy referred to five of the six apprentices being granted copies of the Book of Prophecies and thereby becoming Foretellers). Alternatively, one could argue that Ava better fits this title because her identity was intentionally kept from us when Ephemer first disappeared in KHX. However now, there is a new Unknown in KHUX who not only offed Strelitzia, but encountered Maleficent after using time travel to arrive in the past after Riku separated her Heart from her body with the Keyblade of Heart in KHI. Whether or not they are the same individual is debatable, but I believe for now we should consider the two one in the same. (Levi657 (talk) 19:05, 30 October 2018 (UTC))
As far as Luxu, he and the MoM showed up in KHX without being named (or even speaking) a few times before they were eventually identified. For Strelitzia, that's Laurium (you can see his silhouette). For Maleficent, it's not really clear that that's actually meant to be an Unknown, rather than someone just standing in shadows -- and besides, they do identify themselves, as "the darkness"."We're werewolves, not swearwolves." When did Luxu appear in the story before the final episode? Any time a figure in a Black Coat appeared it was the Master of Masters (e.g. during Player's dream). The only other times an unknown figure appears is when Mickey is summoned to Daybreak Town (Invi's character model is used here, but the scene intentionally cuts away before much of it is revealed), when Ephemer disappears (which we have confirmation of being Ava) and when The Moogle works alongside an unseen figure in order to gather information about Player (during the Crystals of Light missions, a character who we still do not have any confirmation about though it seems likely that it was Nightmare Chirithy or the present "Darkness" Maleficent has encountered). Apart from those instances, everyone simply initially assumed that the individual Player encountered in his dream was Luxu because we knew there was a 6th apprentice, but we now know it to be MoM. So unless I am mistaken, Luxu only appeared when Ava sought him out, please correct me if I'm wrong. Furthermore, since when does this site operate on speculation? While Lauriam's render was used that doesn't confirm him as the unknown, and I think it should be left ambiguous until there is an official reveal. (Levi657 (talk) 13:16, 31 October 2018 (UTC))
This is a disambig page, meant for linking to other articles. We don't have any information about the individual that killed Strelitzia or the one that talked to Maleficent, so we can't link to any page about them. Also, they're not even seen (as far as I know), so maybe they don't count as Unknown. Also, it's kind of ironic that you think we shouldn't say one of them is Lauriam, even if they use his render, because that would be speculation (I agree with this point. There's not enough proof to say it's Lauriam), but you think we should consider both of these to be one and the same, even though there's no proof for that. TheSilentHero 13:57, 31 October 2018 (UTC)
I merely brought the other characters we did not know the identity of at the time into play because I thought it odd that they weren't included here if we were going to be including Luxu, who to my knowledge was never dubbed one of the Unknowns. The case for the one who offed Strelitzia as well as this new supposed Darkness figure are the same as with Ava when she approached Ephemer just before his disappearance, a grainy silhouette was used in order to keep the identity a mystery to us. As for the "Collect Crystals of Light, kupo" quests, the unknown figure is off screen when he speaks with the Moogle. At the moment, there are three characters whose identity we do not know, though they could all be the same character, we just don't know that, so I don't know where else to put them. To me they are Unknowns. EDIT: Sorry, I just looked into it and the Collect Crystals of Light unknown is definitely Nightmare Chirithy, they disappear in the same fashion as a Chirithy and his manipulative behaviour matches our Nightmare. While for something like the Unknown in BbS, it would be inappropriate to claim it was Saix simply because it used his model, in KHX we've already (1) had that situation happen with Invi and Mickey, where the model was used to identify an obscured figure, and (2) the game already has a "default generic silhouette" it could use for someone who truly wasn't supposed to be identified. I mean, they use rando generics a lot, as seen in the Keyblade Wielder (KHX) article. Specifically using Lauriam's sprite indicates that it's Lauriam.
As for Luxu, when did we have it confirmed that the figure in the sewers was the MoM?"We're werewolves, not swearwolves." (KrytenKoro) 17:21, 1 November 2018 (UTC)
Regardless of what is perceived, it is not confirmed to be Lauriam. There is not any official confirmation, it's simply speculation. For all anyone knows Nomura is leading us on with the Lauriam situation. The entire point here is that there is no way to confirm identity, and thus the character should then be referred to as Unknown. Until Lauriam himself confirms this, anything else is speculation. On the next point, Lauriam was only seen when Ava confronted him. The Master of Master was the figure in Player's dream. The figure in the waterways was Ava. I would just like to say that, with the revelation that Lauriam has been searching from Strelitzia because she is his younger sister, what I've said above is more valid that ever. While this by no means definitively means that Lauriam can't be the culprit, it muddies the waters. It could literally be anyone at this point. (Levi657 (talk) 13:08, 23 November 2018 (UTC))
