A quick footnote: despite their names, the Protect, Protera and Protega chains of KH1 don't really use the Protect status. They do raise (Defence?), but that's about it. Is it wise to put such a thing in the page? TRSNX 17:12, 12 September 2015 (UTC)

I would say no, as there are a lot of accessories that raise Defense. TheSilentHero 17:27, 12 September 2015 (UTC)

Ability versus status[edit]

There is a certain distinction between Protect as an ability and Protect as a status. To be precise:

In Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance, Protect is a Dream Eater support magic that grants a status that decreases damage taken from physical attacks by 50% for 20 seconds.

Protect is only a status in KH3D and possibly COM, even though it is an ability in other games. There are other, similar cases (including basically all of the KH3D positive status effects). The Status Effects page does not cleanly make this distinction. --Neumannz, The Dark Falcon 20:31, 21 September 2015 (UTC)

I don't think we need to split the ability and command, though."We're werewolves, not swearwolves." (KrytenKoro) 14:49, 3 February 2016 (UTC)
