Sono Arcanum's name is derived from the Latin sono, meaning "to make a noise," "to speak," or "to cry out," and arcanum, meaning "secret." As such, the technique's name is meant to mean "Sound Secret." Its Japanese name, "Sonic Arcanum," means "Sonic Secret."
