High-Speed Step
High-Speed Step (高速ステップ Kōsoku Suteppu) is a technique introduced in Kingdom Hearts Chain of Memories. It allows the user to dodge attacks with a dash.
Mechanics[edit]
In Kingdom Hearts Chain of Memories, High-Speed Step is an ability that is executed by double-tapping the control pad in a direction during battle. High-Speed Step causes Riku to dash forwards while twisting himself backwards, with Dark Mode's version leaving afterimages in its wake.
In Kingdom Hearts Re:Chain of Memories, High-Speed Step is an ability that is executed by pressing
, and can used during and outside of battle. The normal version of High Speed Step causes Riku to roll forward with his left palm on the ground and then handspring back on his feet, while Dark Mode's version causes him to dash and spin at the end, with a blur effect around him, similarily to Quick Run from Kingdom Hearts II.
In combat, High-Speed Step grants invulnerability for about as long as Riku's feet are off the ground. In Dark Mode, the movement speed is increased, but no invulnerability is given.
