rewrite?[edit]

Is this understandable, or should it be rewritten to include all the things missing and not properly explained? --Hecko X 08:38, 8 January 2008 (UTC)

LOL Hey You gonna finish this or whut?1

Where can I find things that are explained such things in more detail? BamaSebastian 17:34, 12 June 2008 (UTC)

We really should delete this page. Everyone who's gonna edit, needs to read this -Azul 23:11, 12 June 2008 (UTC)

Lock[edit]

This page needs to be locked, I think to only registered user level. Most of the vandalism to this page has been from IP's and new, unautoconfirmed users. KRCCFNF is tired of being STEPPED ON. 11:04, 30 July 2011 (EDT)

I can lock it.--NinjaSheik 11:31, 30 July 2011 (EDT)

Linking to other wikis[edit]

TALK - "Life is like drawing a line, it's never perfect." -- 14:27, 22 April 2013 (UTC) -- My YouTube
I'm working on my user page and I'm wondering if there is an easy way to link to pages on Bulbapedia and LBPCentral like interlinking to other wikias. It's usually like:

[[wikia:ratchet:Ratchet:_Deadlocked|'''<font color=brown>Ratchet: Deadlocked</font>''']] = Ratchet: Deadlocked

You can see our interwiki link shortcuts here. In this case, you would use [[wikia:c:ratchet:Ratchet: Deadlocked]]. --Neumannz, The Dark Falcon 22:52, 22 April 2013 (UTC)

Update[edit]

Wanted to get permission to update this help page with one I drafted here. I tried to make it as close to a help guide for people who have never written a wiki page before. Diamond Dust Keychain KHFM.pngKeybladeSpyMaster Diamond Dust Keychain KHFM.png 02:23, 5 September 2017 (UTC)

Looks good to me! :D I would, however, like to suggest that there should be a notice under the "Talk Pages" section that explicitly states that user talk pages belong to the community and are not the property of the user in order to prevent users removing messages from their talk pages. I would actually like to make a rough draft of an actual policy page for the wiki, detailing general rules, and other policies like the deletion policy, videos policy, and banning policy. I created a draft based on numerous standard rules I've seen on other wikis, but is mostly inspired by the Avatar Wiki's policies. But again, it's only a rough draft, so it's not complete and needs to be revised after thorough discussion between the community.--NinjaSheik 22:51, 5 September 2017 (UTC)
So, for some of your ideas, I had been through thinking of the same thing. I was thinking, though, of creating a User Account policy (user pages, user behavior, causes for bans, etc.), a media policy (images, audio, video; I already started a draft for this below my draft for the MOS), and rewriting our existing guides, like the beginner's guide, where we could talk about discussion in general and emphasize article talk pages, user talk pages, and forums, and the admin manual, where we could elaborate grounds and procedures for moving or deleting pages, among other things. I'll see what I can do to write these up as I was thinking and see what we all think. Diamond Dust Keychain KHFM.pngKeybladeSpyMaster Diamond Dust Keychain KHFM.png 00:15, 6 September 2017 (UTC)
Originally, I was planning to create forum where I presented the ideas, but should we both just edit on your sandbox for the draft? I do agree that we should have a written and clearly defined User policy. All wikias have one, and for a long time, we just kind of operated the standard Terms of Use from Central Wikia/FANDOM Community. Oh, I also want to propose that merge some of our Help guide pages. I always find it silly to create separate pages for guides that could be easily placed in one article. For example, Help:Editing and Help:Writing can be merged into page.--NinjaSheik 21:46, 6 September 2017 (UTC)
I agree on all counts. Especially the last one, because I still haven't figured out what that Writing page is supposed to be. Definitely go ahead and edit my sandbox drafts, if you wish. Diamond Dust Keychain KHFM.pngKeybladeSpyMaster Diamond Dust Keychain KHFM.png 22:09, 6 September 2017 (UTC)
I'll probably do my draft separately. Our writing styles are bit different, and I'll feel like I'm intruding on your personal sandbox. ^_^; Once I present my draft, I'll stick to my original idea and create a forum, so the community can see it and contribute to the discussion. Or I'll post it on the talk page. I'm currently dealing with college, so I probably won't get it up anytime soon, unfortunately.--NinjaSheik 22:36, 7 September 2017 (UTC)
