Can you hear their euphoria? — 23:46, 13 February 2019 (UTC) Hello, everyone. Recently, changes were made to our maintenance templates. These shrunk the full-body character renders we use in them to a ridiculously tiny size, one where I feel using said images is no longer appropriate. I spoke to KeybladeSpyMaster about this, knowing he switched our maintenance templates from using Days sprites to renders in the first place, and he gave me his blessing to make drafts of new templates using KHUχ medals. These can all be seen here. KSM asked that I share my drafts with the community before making any changes, so I was wondering what everyone thinks. I realize this is a small issue in the grand scheme of things, but I think using medal images is a much better option. Regardless of the outcome, I thank everyone for their time and input. :)

However, I really like the current quote of Template:Split. I'd suggest maybe using this medal for it, if we choose to keep it. Otherwise, though, I think they do look better than the character renders. On a related note, these images look ridiculously tiny anyways when on mobile. On the KHDatabase, I've found writing them out as divs works for making the picture disappear when it gets to a certain size. It'd be a lot of work, but perhaps we might want to consider rebuilding this altogether? Then, we don't have teeny tiny images on mobile either; it'd be better to just get rid of them altogether at that screen size.

Would a compromise be possible where we keep your quote but use a Naminé medal image, since she is the one who says it? EDIT: 01:46, 15 February 2019 (UTC) - I'm thinking this one, in which Naminé is depicted at the same "age" she is in Days, where your preferred quote is from. EDIT: 01:49, 15 February 2019 (UTC) - How do we feel about the Young Xehanort quote? Since it's a warning and not a ban, would "I said, hands off!" be better? Both it and "Begone," are from KH3D.

One thing that bothers me, though, is that the medals are all in different places in the template. Maybe it would be better to give them all a set place, so that when multiple of these templates are used, it looks neater. For the Warning2 template, I don't think "Begone!" is a very fitting quote. What about Terra-Xehanort's "Stop fighting back...!" (Using this image)?

I was merely copy/pasting the current coding, so my apologies for that. If we truly want image placement variety, I was thinking we follow where a character is looking. Characters looking to the left on the right side of the template, and characters looking to the right on the left. Honestly, I think one position is a better option. @TheSilentHero - Did you see I suggested "I said, hands off!" as an alternative Young Xehanort quote? If you really want to use Terra-Xehanort with your preferred quote, I do not object. However, thanks to the OCD in me, I personally think this medal would be a better image pick. The Guardian isn't there when Terra-Xehanort says the quote you've chosen. That's a nitpick though, so no big deal, whatever we decide. :)

Definitely okay with moving all the images to one side of the template, too. I think I moved them around because with full-body renders, not just their face, but their whole body faces different directions. Which looks kinda klunky with the ones facing away from the text, particularly if they're holding something. On Template:Split, I feel it looks better with the Roxas/Xion medal, since that who it's about, and it represents the splitting of two articles. But I won't make a fit if the Naminé medal is chosen, it's no big deal.

That said, I will not throw a fit if the community prefers the Roxas and Xion medal. I think we should avoid redundancy with images where possible, and since Roxas is used in a warning template, that's why I went with Captain Hook in my draft. EDIT: 03:44, 16 February 2019 (UTC) - I updated the Young Xehanort quote. "Begone," has been changed to, "I said, hands off!"

Can't all be heroes. — 16:36, 17 February 2019 (UTC) About the image placement, I wasn't really bothered by some of them being on the right, but more about the place in the template. Right now, the Document template has the image all the way to the side, against the border, but the Images template has the image almost in the middle. It should be easy to fix by giving the cell with the image a set width. I don't really mind who we use for the Split template, but if you want to avoid using the same character twice, there are two Vexen images being used right now (although one template is barely used), two Xemnas's (if you count the Mysterious Figure), two Mickey's, and two Sora's. If we want to use only one character, we could use Xion for the merge template with "I belong with Sora. And now, I am going back...to be with him." @ENX: The quote I picked was just a suggestion, and I picked the B medal because it looked more threatening, but the new Young Xehanort quote is fine.

That is a lot of character redundancy. I wasn't really being creative when making my drafts. I was just going with the characters used in our current templates. We can keep it that way, if necessary. I'm gonna see if I can find a Xion "split" quote. In the meantime, if people want to kill the redundancy, feel free to leave quote and medal suggestions, and I'll make the necessary changes to my drafts! @TheSilentHero - I understand. My OCD makes me care about trivial things like this, so my apologies. I definitely see your intent with the Terra-Xehanort medal and have no objections to using it, if that's what everyone wants. :)

Hello! So everyone knows, images at least 120px wide have the possibility to be used as an article's page image. That's the image that shows up on Discord and things when you post a link to the article. We don't want the maintenance images to be selected as the page image, so it's necessary to keep them under 120px wide. OH! Is that how that works? I've been wondering myself for a while. For the padding around the medal images, you can increase the width for the cell the images are in (the Relicense template has a width of 15% in the cell the medal is in). I've expressed my thoughts already, so other than that, and if no one objects, I think they're ready to replace the existing templates. KeybladeSpyMaster 03:26, 22 February 2019 (UTC)
