You can tell someone "Hey, work should come first on the wiki" without being threatening. All that does is drive new users away. I have no idea where that cynical attitude of having to "break them down" came from, but it's incorrect. I've noticed his edits, which you would know if you actually read my message, and told him about the IRC. Most of his edits ''have'' been related toward asking people to be friends or asking questions rather than mainspace edits, but the former two a perfectly fine as long as he doesn't start spamming the Recent Changes with conversations - that's what the IRC's for - and he's asked about what articles on the wiki need help so he can start contributing effectively.

Being friendly and asking questions does not constitute a Wiki-princess, especially when the user is trying to find ways to contirbute.
