Midnight Snack (研究の夜食 Kenkyū no Yashoku, lit. "Nighttime Research Snack") is a joke Lexicon that can be wielded by Zexion in Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days.
Design
The Midnight Snack is a square, sandwich-shaped "lexicon". Its "covers" are slices of toasted bread. Its "pages" are slices of lettuce, cheese, and meat that stick out from the sides. The sandwich begins with the two slices of bread, upon which lies the lettuce. Atop the lettuce is cheese, and then the meat is in the middle, which resembles a whitish, thin meat like turkey.
The Midnight Snack’s English and Japanese names both refer to its sandwich-like appearance. A “midnight snack” is a meal eaten late at night.
Gameplay
Midnight Snack gives Zexion very basic combos. The ground combo begins with a simple downward strike, and the second attack involves Zexion attacking with his lexicon to his left and right in slap-like motions. For the ground combo finisher, Zexion's lexicon floats in front of him, with the contents of the sandwich facing the enemy. A large, blob-like object of lettuce then comes out of the sandwich to attack the enemy. In the aerial combo, Zexion starts with another simple downward strike. The second attack is an upward strike. In the combo finisher, Zexion throws the Midnight Snack outward from him in a straight line.
