Identity Disk

The Identity Disc is the weapon of choice of Tron. Identity Discs are standard weapons in the computer world, Space Paranoids. In fact, when a program hits another program, the disk will de-resolute (derezz) them, meaning they will be deleted from the database, pixel by pixel. In the movie Tron, Identity Discs are powerful, but some programs have to be downloaded to the disk in order to derezz certain programs.

An Identity Disc resembles a Frisbee, and operates like one, as well. The colour of a disk varies. It depends on who uses it. If a User serving program uses an Identity Disc, the disk will be blue. Otherwise it will be a dark violet.

The Identity Disc is an average weapon, like the Kingdom Key. Just as in the film, a program was installed into Tron's Identity Disc in the I/O Tower to help him neutralize the Heartless.

Trivia

• The Identity Disc is also the weapon of Sark, though his is colored red and orange to match his appearance.
• In the Disney film, Tron, the Identity Disc is used in the games as a means of protection and weaponry.
• The keychain of the Photon Debugger found in Kingdom Hearts II and Kingdom Hearts: Re:Chain of Memories is a minuscule version of a blue Identity Disc.
