Gopher is a resident of the 100 Acre Wood. Though the 100 Acre Wood has been in the previous games, Gopher did not appear until Kingdom Hearts II. He is also the only regular character who has appeared in II so far that was a Disney-only character, not present in A.A. Milne's stories. Other Disney-only regulars include Kessie the bluebird (The New Adventures of Winnie the Pooh), a little girl named Darby and her dog Buster (My Friends Tigger and Pooh), and Lumpy the Heffalump (Pooh's Heffalump Movie), though the last was referenced by non-cutscene dialogue of Roo in Kingdom Hearts II, saying he has found a new friend.

Of all residents, he is the only one who literally lives underground, and digs through the ground to make a living.

Trivia

  • Possibly because of his two front teeth, Gopher speaks with a whistle following his "s" sounds.
