Crowns are new costume modifications added in Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix. When equipped, they do not appear during cutscenes or while Sora is in a world-specific costume, but are present in any other situation, including while Sora is in his normal Drive Forms. They have no benefit aside from aesthetic changes.
Crowns are unlocked by obtaining Proofs, which are key items that are rewarded after clearing particular side-quests or defeating certain optional bosses. The Copper Crown is rewarded after obtaining any one proof, while the Silver Crown and Gold Crown are granted after Sora has his second and third Proofs respectively.
