Then answer me this: Why do pages only take up a quarter of the width of the screen? People don't use 640x480 resolutions anymore--on my 1920x1080 laptop I can hardly stand to look at a page because of all the squishing that takes place. We rely on images to convey our encyclopedic content and you're just pushing them out. It doesn't work. | |||
Do whatever you want, it's your Wikia. But I'll urge you to keep in mind two things: 1) You shouldn't have to force change down the throats of everyone here. We get new users all the time--you can make Monaco look better without making a new skin. If you want to modernize it, leave it to the preferences menu. It's not too hard to maintain two skins at once. I've done it myself. (Don't just stuff technical jargon down our throats by saying it takes more resources--that's bull and you know it.) And 2) Keep in mind the big picture here--with wikis leaving and users p/o'd, you're going to lose a lot of ad revenue and a lot of loyal people. Why would you place so much on the line for so little gain? | |||
