For the game itself I am positively surprised, after all that bashing on the net I didn't really understand it turned out to be a decent game so far.
The battle system is very innovative and the battles are fun. The story is captivating and the playable cast is all somewhat likeable, although I admit I've developed a special fondness for Lightning, Fang and Hope.
The only thing I personally would say I have to complain about is the total lack of exploration possibilities. Every FF is linear to a point but this narrow go from A to B makes it more obvious in XIII and it has too much one-time-visit locations. 
I don't quite get that with the leader, as I can move around pretty freely. Yet I was contemplating to make Hope leader...maybe his smaller size increases my chances for an preemptive strike...lol. 10K Damage in the Fifth Ark? So does that mean XIII has "breaking damage-cap" just like X? }}

Lightning's very quick, excellent Ravager, decent Commando and a good secondary Medic while Hope is undoubtedly the magical powerhouse. For a kid who was described in the manual as a "normal boy" his magic powers are insane. Very good Ravager and Medic, decent Synergist. Only his HP are a Source of worry...*ggg*.
About the weapons: Maybe they just didn't pay attention, as FF XIII is graphically superior to any KH with hair waving in the wind, detailed facial emotions etc.

In our history there are a few devistating blizzards include the blizzards of 1888,1978,1993(ha the year I was born),and 2005(I remember this one, I was out of school for legit an entire week Monday to Friday.) Maybe a foot here and there but this one was the worst I've seen in a long time. I was thinking of puting another box directly next to each one which would contain explanations for my answers. However no matter what I tried I couldn't get it to work effectively at least. Would you happen to know a way I could do that? I asked Soxra but I havn't heard back from him at all :/ Also, have you seen all the awesome pictures/sprites/keyblades I've made resently?? I swear the dumb idiot old man doesn't know when to quit. I just couldn't go on yesterday just cuz I was sooo pissed. You know I'm usualy a very nice dude but like I couldn't be myself. I was totaly emotionaly compromized. I couldn't even smile until maybe 3 hours later. Thats how bad that idiot is. I swear sometimes I think he doesn't even know my name cuz all I get half the time is moron, retard, and I'm always geting the looks of disappointment and whatever else. As for MF, I'm on him with Terra on proud, yet the main problem is not the "Magnet rope" itself alone. I use a thunder surge x 6, Curaga x 2 deck against him with also equipped Renewal block (his sword combos and the x-attack are blockable), yet was frustrates me is his cheating moves. If he gets me with one "Magnet rope" he sometimes follows it up right with another one, impossible to survive. Then there are those stupid laser-orbs, regardless if I block or slide away, some of these things always hit out of reasons I haven't figured out yet.
Still, I constantly manage to bring him down about to half health, yet then he becomes invisible, cloaks himself in fire, conjures the laser-orbs and casts meteor all at once...I'm really at a loss how to survive such a barrage, lol.}}

If he does "rape rope" + x-attack I can block and actually heal Terra. "rape rope" + Tornado can be dodged with right timing. Just when he does "rape rope" + sword combo or "rape rope" x 2 you're screwed for sure. Yet I manage to dodge "rape rope" in 7 out of 10 times now. Ugh...so no solution for Terra and the laser-orbs...yet if he conjures clones I just destroy them with a thunder surge...that takes care of them. Only problem is you end near the actual MF after it and if he does use "rape rope" then you are to 99% dead. Thunder surge actually takes good care of his health (about half a bar if it connects properly) and can even interrupt his Tornado and the short sword combo. The thing I constantly fail is when he gets invisible and starts using multiple attacks at once. To Vanitas's Remnant I got "used" to how he functions after between 8 and 11 tries, yet the MF still deludes me...lol
On another note, wanna become friends? You're very helpful and seem to be a nice fellow...also it seems to me you're the first user I met here who is in a closer time-zone to my own (Finland and Germany aren't that far apart. ;)) }}

In Mirage Arena I actually do use Magnega and some Thundagas for crowd control with Terra while bringing Sonic Blade (it even stuns Iron Imprisoners) and mostly Shotlocks for bosses. Aqua of course has more options in crowd control with her magic...and for Ven, four things: Tornado, Faith, Salvation and Wing blade command style...lol. And exactly these combinated attacks are what's getting me all the time...I almost always manage to bring him down to half health now. Then he becomes untargetable and owns my Terra with multiple attack spam.
Great thing, and I know what you mean...online there are some things that feel easier...
