| "Treasured Memories" is approximately one minute and forty-five seconds long in ''Kingdom Hearts'' and the [[Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 ReMIX|the HD remake]] of ''Kingdom Hearts Final Mix''. Regardless of the game, it has a time signature of 4/4 time, and a tempo of 96 beats per minute. The piece does not have an introduction or conclusion, allowing for smooth transitions between repeats. Each loop is seventeen measures long. The instrumentation consists of: violin, viola, and piano.

| Small in instrumentation and rather short in duration, "Treasured Memories" is minimalistic in nature. There are no sudden changes in tempo, meter, or rhythm. A slight tension and "dissonance" is occasionally heard in the lower strings, but other than that, the piece is relatively calm in tone. The piano maintains control of the melody throughout the piece. While there is a perceivable "warmth" and sentimentality to the music, there is also a slight sense of melancholy.
