Outside of flashbacks, the Depths of Darkness return from Kingdom Hearts 0.2 Birth by Sleep -A fragmentary passage- in a single cutscene, looking nearly identical from that game, albeit without the bright light emanated by Homecoming.

The Dark Margin from the End of Sea is attached to the Dark World in Kingdom Hearts III. As with earlier games in the series, it consists of a dark beach with many blue rocks, and organic-looking arches stretching above and across the sea, all under a permanent night with a far-off cold light. This area is expanded with a circular battle arena further away inland, consisting of a beach floor surrounded by larger blue rocks with blue fluorescence. The seaside also briefly becomes a circular battle arena when fighting Anti-Aqua and a Demon Tower; Sora, Riku, Anti-Aqua and Shadows are able to walk on its surface, being deep in water by only a few centimeters at most.

Additionally, Riku and Aqua are shown to be drowning under the surface of the Dark Margin in pitch-black water, where no light (except Sora's) is able to pierce through.
