In Kingdom Hearts Union χ, Missing Ache's design changes as it is upgraded, with its base form matching its depiction in Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days. Its base form shares its shape with Pain of Solitude.
The Missing Ache's design differs depending on its upgrades, most of which are in Kingdom Hearts Union χ.

Missing Ache's base form has a black handle and neck. The base of the handle sports two upward-curving protrusions on either side which act as side guards, while the top of the guard is formed by two yellow spikes that curve downward. Both sections of the guard have two circular cutouts like the Nobody symbol. The teeth are also yellow, and form a lopsided "X" which resembles Roxas's zipper pull. Missing Ache's Keychain token is yellow and has a shape similar to the handle and bottom half of the guard, albeit squashed down.
The default design has a black handle and neck, with the handle sporting two protrusions on either side that curve upward. The guard is comprised of two chartreuse spikes that curve downward. The teeth are also chartreuse. Missing Ache's Keychain token is chartreuse as well and has a shape similar to the handle, albeit squashed down. Unlike other Keyblades in Kingdom Hearts Union χ, it is this form of the Keychain that matches its depiction in other games.

Missing Ache's first upgrade retains the black handle and side guards. The neck lengthens and features a gold strip in the middle, as well as a flared tip which slightly resembles a crown. The top of the guard now flares outward into a wide "X", resembling a bisected Roxas symbol. It and the "X" of the teeth are now a light-green-to-blue-gradient. The "X" of the teeth is wider and symmetrical, with a black spike on the back end and a back "W"-shaped piece bridging the "X" on the front end. The Keychain is sharper and more wedge-shaped, and matches the green-blue gradient of the Keyblade.
The first upgrade retains the black handle, grip, and bottom protrusions. The guard is a chartreuse that fades into green, and resembles Roxas's zipper pull. The blade has a golden design in the middle, the tip vaguely resembling Sora's crown necklace. The teeth share the color scheme with the guard, but is now longer, has a black spike on one end, and a W-shaped black design on the other. The Keychain is shorter, and the tip has a spike.

Missing Ache's second upgrade retains the black handle, but the black portion of the guard has flattened, and has a thin, curved gold spike on either side. The top of the guard is larger, with a third prong on each side, and a purple added to the center of the gradient. A black arrowhead with a cyan crystal center is placed at the center on the guard. Missing Ache's neck has widened into a blade, and the gold strip splits at the bottom, forming a triangular shape. Two gold arrowhead patterns overlay the gold strips. The middle point of the neck's tip is now gold, with a cyan diamond between the three points. The back end of the teeth's "X" has a purple gradient and a cyan tear-shaped gem at the center. The front half of the "X" has widened, and the black piece has filled in, with the longer middle piece. At its center is a cyan diamond. The Keychain's token resembles the spikes on the guard and teeth, with one side colored yellow-green, the other side colored purple-blue, and a black "V" at the bottom.
The second upgrade bears a redesigned bottom. The protrusions are smaller, but bear beige spikes. The guard colors are purple-blue and yellow-green, with a blue/cyan crystal in the center. The blade has V-shaped designs in the middle. The tip has a beige design, at the very tip with a blue/cyan diamond in the center, which is also present in the teeth. There’s also a water drop shaped crystal in one of the teeth. The teeth colors are purple-blue and yellow-green, The spikes in the teeth are also wider, necessitating wider black designs. The Keychain's token resembles the spikes on the guard and teeth, with one side colored yellow-green, the other side colored purple-blue, and a black V at the bottom. Ventus uses this upgrade in Kingdom Hearts Union χ.

The third upgrade envelopes the Keyblade in a green aura with turquoise lens flares periodically appearing near the guard and along the blade.
