==Composition==
"Lazy Afternoons" is approximately one minute and twenty-four seconds long and plays at 74 beats per minute. It has a time signature of 4/4 throughout the entire piece and is written in the key of G Major. Unlike other field themes, "Lazy Afternoons" does have an introduction section which lasts thirteen seconds. This introduction phrase is used again at the end of the piece, allowing for smooth transitions for an infinite number of loops. Each loop is twenty-one measures long. The instrumentation varies by game. In ''Kingdom Hearts Chain of Memories'', the instrumentation consists of guitars, the vibraphone, harmonica, and strings. In ''Kingdom Hearts II'', the instrumentation is the same save for the melody voicing; the harmonica is now replaced by a soprano saxophone. In the [[Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 ReMIX|remake]], the instrumentation is the same as found in ''Kingdom Hearts II''. This time, however, the introduction phrase adds a syncopated part in the guitar.

In the original versions of ''Kingdom Hearts II'', there is an error that will sometimes cause only the sustained strings to play. This is because in-engine commands used to play "Lazy Afternoons" call for the loading of three files rather than the usual two for other tracks. The first two are "music118.bgm" (the music data itself) and "wave0118.wd" (the instrument data), while the third is "music118.vsb". The .vsb file contains the soprano saxophone heard from the 0:26 mark to the 1:25 mark as well as the underlying cello from the 0:40 mark to the 1:13 mark. The saxophone and cello are loaded from the .vsb file as separate voices to queue up when the .bgm file reads their load commands. If they are not read properly, the resulting piece will only play the sustained strings.
