The '''Identity Disk''' is the [[weapon]] of choice of [[Tron]]. Identity Disks are standard weapons in the computer world, [[Space Paranoids]]. When a program's Identity Disk hits another program, the disk will de-resolute, or derezz, them, meaning they will be deleted from the database, pixel by pixel. In the film ''{{w|Tron (film)|Tron}}'', Identity Disks are equally as powerful, but some programs have to be downloaded to the disk in order to derezz certain programs.

The Identity Disk is an average weapon, like the [[Kingdom Key]]. As it is in the film, a program was installed into Tron's Identity Disk in the [[I/O Tower]] to help him neutralize the [[Heartless]] and the [[MCP]]. After helping Tron save Space Paranoids from the MCP, Sora is rewarded with the [[Photon Debugger]] [[Keychain]], which uses an Identity Disk as its token. [[Sark]] also wields an Identity Disk of his own. During the first battle, it can be knocked back at him, but in the second, it is too large for this to be possible.

==Design==
The Identity Disk appears as a grey Frisbee-like weapon. It has a thin ring near the edge of the weapon, followed by three consecutively smaller rings near the center of the disk, which sports a circle. The color of the rings depends on the disk's user: Users and User-affiliated programs wield blue Identity Disks, while Sark wields an orange-red Identity Disk. Otherwise, the disk will be a dark violet.

Tron's Identity Disk is a mixture of dark and light blues. The disk sports a simple color scheme: the outer ring is dark blue while the following ring is light blue, with the pattern repeating towards the center of the disk.

Identity Disks make a return in [[The Grid]]. These Identity Disks are based on their incarnations from ''{{w|Tron: Legacy}}'', being smaller, black chakram-like weapons with a white outer edge, the inner edge displaying the same color of the owner's circuitry. [[Rinzler]], [[Quorra]], [[CLU]], and [[Sam Flynn|Sam]] and [[Kevin Flynn]] have been shown with Identity Disks, and [[Sora]] and [[Riku]] also bear Identity Disks on their designs in the Grid.
