It is also important to keep track of the movement of the Holey Moley, by using either the Lock-On, or the area's map. In the 3DS version of the game, it is possible to never lose track of Holey Moley by using the full zoomed-out map of the area. This option is absent in ''[[Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance HD]]''; instead, one can only rely on the lock-on and the ripple that appears when it reappears on the mini-map on the corner of the screen, which helps pinpointing its location if it happens to be outside of that mini-map.

Once chipped down to half HP (or at the start of the battle on Critical Mode), the Moley disappears and several hands appear. Unlike with [[Hockomonkey]]'s hands, it is unnecessary to beat them to make the Moley itself re-appear, and Riku can wait instead. He cannot be reached by any of their scratches if he stands on a higher ground. He should nonetheless make his Dream Eaters avoid approaching those hands to avoid the risk of letting them take one or several Scratch attacks by bringing them back to him by pressing either both {{button|shoulderl}} and {{button|shoulderr}} (3DS), or {{button|l3}} (PS4).

Once it re-appears, only the head does it, use Flomotion on it to use Pole Spin and Buzz Saw to immobilize the Moley for a certain period. Afterwards, the Moley will become more and more aggressive while retreating more often after each Prop Throw.
