{{The Inexistent|KRCCFNF='''But, in all techincallity, those could be considered site images.  Plus, there are hundreds of them that would have to be exactly resized before they could be uploaded through Photobucket.'''}}
{{Asif|shoevil=If they are "user friend" userboxes ("This user is friends with _______"), then the rules that apply to talkbubble images would apply to those.  The other images are debatable, though, but for consistency's sake I still think they should be kept off-wiki.
And if you want to resize an image, Photoshop is great for that. (TI, I know you can't do that, so you might want to have someone else do it for you).  I don't know if you can resize an image in Paint, but in Photoshop it is definitely possible.}}
{{The Inexistent|text='''Well, resizing in Paint makes images extremely pixalated, but any windows user can easily take a printscreen of the existing size and crop it, or paste it into word and resize it.  I just thought that it would be a lot of work for images that, if you ask me, are site images.'''}}
{{DTN|time=18:57, 14 March 2011 (EDT)|text=Here's the way I see it: site images are related to the site, and therefore its main features such as its goal and desired content to be featured and expanded upon. Userboxes, therefore, cannot be deemed site images, since they belong to a part of the wiki we do not flaunt nor do we advertise, as pretty userboxes do not further our goal of creating the most in-depth, all-covering encyclopedia on the ''Kingdom Hearts'' series. We treat talk template images the same way for the same reason, I do not see any reason why userboxes should get any other kind of treatment for a situation that is, essentially, the same.
Also, if users are uploading mid-small images to use for their "friend" userboxes... yeah, those probably need to go the most, since most of those aren't even slightly official content.}}
{{Maggosh|nathan=I think we should just get rid of userboxes period here.}}
{{DTN|time=19:13, 14 March 2011 (EDT)|text=That's taking matters a bit far, don't you think? While userboxes aren't necessary to any wiki, including this one, we have a use for them here. All that's being suggested is that we move some unofficial user images off-wiki for better presentation and to respect our policy. Neither party will be pleased if we simply get rid of userboxes altogether.
Plus, do you ''really'' think you can just get rid of userboxes with a policy? The creativity on this wiki is so vast, there's no way it won't find some form of expression, either as userboxes or in some other similar form.}}
{{SC|time=19:32, 14 March 2011 (EDT)|troll=Honestly, it seems like the general consensus is that we move images off-wiki for a lot of things, but it isn't getting done. I think somebody responsible and frequently available should take charge of that. I would, but I have no idea whether we want a new Photobucket account or the current ones password, etc, etc.
But yeah, these need to be moved, too.
Also, my friend userbox has an image relevant to the wiki. U jelly? *trollface* <!-- And /that/ is why I used teh troll bubble, lolz -->}}
{{LA|Vtext=I'll do it. I'll make a Photobucket account. I'll share the password with the admins, and keep it within a trustworthy circle. I'll start importing images and converting images to their Photobucket counterpart now.
EDIT: http://s1202.photobucket.com/albums/bb367/khwiki-official/
I realized last minute that "khwiki-user" would've been a better username. My bad. PM me on the IRC for the password.}}
{{UnknownChaser|time=Time is base on the reality of our fantasy.|Noctis=Well if you want to resize images without it being pixalated, then the best program to use would be either gimp or photoshop.}}
@Lego - Most of the images on the Photobucket aren't resized.  I would fully support all of this off wiki hosting if we could find a decent off-site image host.  {{The Inexistentsig}} 17:24, 15 March 2011 (EDT)
:Yeah, I completely forgot about the resizing.
:EDIT: A thought: why don't we use the wikia-wiki for offsite hosting? Didn't Kryten demonstrate a way to host and resize other wiki images? This way, we won't have to reupload everything. The only problem I see is getting permission. And the morality behind it. --{{User:LegoAlchemist/Sig}} 20:16, 15 March 2011 (EDT)
BRILLIANT IDEA.  Although it might be a little immoral, we could do something similar.  Someday, when we actually start SEIWA, we could have an image wiki, similarly to how Wikimedia Commons was basically created to be an image hosting site for Wikipedia and other Wikimedia sites.  {{The Inexistentsig}} 22:21, 15 March 2011 (EDT)
:Bulbapedia has one of those, I believe. --{{SilverCrono/Sig}} 22:28, 15 March 2011 (EDT)
{{neumannz|time=22:36, 15 March 2011 (EDT)|text=Is it really possible to resize images hosted on the wikia? I know it's possible to ''use'' those images, like this:
http://images1.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20090824215816/kingdomhearts/images/9/92/Kingdom_Key_KHD.png
But resizing? How?}}
{{LA|Vtext=Look at the coding for the kitty pictures on Kryten's userpage. It's got like the sizing after a forewardslash or summat. I've used it before - it works.}}
{{neumannz|time=01:41, 16 March 2011 (EDT)|text=Doesn't seem to be working for me. Could you give an example? Like with [http://kingdomhearts.wikia.com/wiki/File:Kingdom_Key_KH.png this one]?}}
{{UnknownChaser|time=Time is base on the reality of our fantasy.|Noctis=I want and did an experiment, so I use the [http://www.khwiki.net/Template:User_Sora Sora fan user box], as you can see this is the current coding for it, and I took the [http://www.khwiki.net/File:Kh-sora.jpg image] that was use for it and resize to [http://img26.imageshack.us/img26/203/sora50x50.png 50x50], then I replace the current one with the resize image and tested the image out and got [http://www.khwiki.net/User:UnknownChaser/Fira this], as you can see the images are both the same and so is the quality for them, but the coding is different.}}
{{LA|Vtext=

}}
BUT we still would not be able to link= or put captions on them.
Also, @DTN, [[:File:AquaWinner.png|this]] gets us closer to being done?  {{The Inexistentsig}} 16:26, 20 March 2011 (EDT)
:We don't need links or captions in Userboxes. --{{User:LegoAlchemist/Sig}} 18:03, 20 March 2011 (EDT)
*facepalm*  Sorry, I was thinking of other images...  {{The Inexistentsig}} 22:36, 22 March 2011 (EDT)
----
We can't let this die out--it's becoming a problem in auditing. For example, while I was auditing images, I had to leave a ton of images unchecked because we hadn't decided on this. While there is certainly more effort required in resizing the images off-wiki, there is also the risk of exceeding Photobucket's bandwidth limit. We could try Lego/Kryten's idea of using the KHWikia URL's, though if they ever change their image names, we have to as well. Additionally, we could make this simple as say that if a user wants to use a userbox, it's their own responsibility to fix the image until we complete the syncing.
This is urgent, so I'm willing to just go into a staff election-style voting, with justification and discussion of course, if everyone is ready. --{{User:DoorToNothing/Sig}} 18:54, 2 April 2011 (EDT)
:I say just get a tinypic account, they don't have a bandwidth limit. {{User:Erry/Sig}} 19:05, 2 April 2011 (EDT)
::I second Erry's notion.  I'll have some time soon, so I can resize a lot of the userbox images that don't require a white background (as I can't make them transparent).  {{The Inexistentsig}} 22:12, 3 April 2011 (EDT)
