Scar's Ghost is a manifestation of Scar's lingering darkness that appears in Kingdom Hearts II. It stalks Simba, due to the unease in his heart about taking his place as ruler of the Pride Land.

Journal Entry

Kingdom Hearts II

This phantom appeared in the Pride Lands after Scar's death. It seems to have been created from the evil in Scar's heart, and it preys on the weakness in Simba's.

The ghost may be a sign of more evil to come. Simba still can't seem to believe in himself, and the other lions are getting more and more worried.

Story

Kingdom Hearts II

Sora, Donald, and Goofy return to the Pride Lands, only to find Simba being plagued by Scar's Ghost. Simba's fear and uneasiness while facing Scar's Ghost make him the laughing-stock of Shenzi, Banzai and Ed.

Sora tries to find out the cause of Simba's fear; Simba only replies that he is unable to follow the footsteps of his father. Sora tries telling Simba that he just has to be himself, but to no avail. After failing to talk things out with Simba, Sora and company leave in a huff; they hide behind a log in the Oasis and, perhaps as a method of coercion, create a replica of Scar's Ghost to help Simba gather his courage. After they successfully helped Simba to regain his composure, Nala, Timon and Pumbaa are confronted by Scar's Ghost, and Simba chivalrously tells the Ghost to disappear. Soon after, all of the Ghosts gather together, forming a giant Heartless known as Groundshaker.

Strategy

Scar's Ghost appears in all of the areas in the Pride Land, but never attacks. Instead, it chases Sora and his friends if they run away and circles them if they stand still.

Trivia

  • Strangely enough, Scar's Ghost appears in front of the protagonists (particularly Simba, Nala, Timon and Pumbaa), but not in front of the antagonists (Shenzi, Banzai and Ed). Even if the Ghost does not appear in front of the protagonists, they are all made aware of its presence.
