(This refers to an enemy in the 'Kingdom Hearts Union X [Cross]' mobile app game (now an offline theatre (lacking the flat text-bubble waist-up characters scenes/clips/cutscenes) with character customization, except for the [also now offline] 'Dark Road' game (with theatre))

The Hermit Pretender is an unseen heartless enemy referred to in the 'Kingdom Hearts Union X [Cross]' mobile app game's special event side-story 'Summer Adventure', that is considered to be so rare, that it has become a myth, and believed by some persons to be fake.

(Player's after-war group/guild currently consists of: 'Leader'(female, white dress, red bandana), 'Mog' (male, moogle headpiece, moogle wings), other keykid (male, white Afro wig, pink suit, funny glasses, Ansem gloves/armlets), other keykid (female, pink ninja outfit, pink frog hat, pink [gummi flyer] jetpack), and 'Player'. ('Captain' or 'old leader' (female, school uniform) is a former member, supposedly became a loner, and is presented in the special side-story event 'A New Friend?'.) All mentioned characters, and more, appeared in the 'Kingdom Hearts X' 3rd Anniversary event.)

'Summer Adventure': (Some time after the Keyblade War) It is nearing the end of summer, and 'Player' is meetinging up with their group/guild of new friends. 'Player' arrives next to 'Mog' just as 'Leader' (and unshown afro-boy?) leave(s), and pink-girl informs that 'leader' has issued the 3 of them to go in search for a very rare heartless known as the Hermit Pretender, as summer vacation homework, when in [partial] reality, the two wanted to give the three something to distract them from hearing about a mysterious quest about treasure, which 'leader' and afro-boy want to investigate, as they have heard that keykids who have accepted the mission, have disappeared. Pink-girl suggests they try to find somewhere to just relax, and she leads them to Agrabah's oasis, though [at least] 'Mog' had to suffer through the desert heat (as he stated), and after awhile pink-girl mentions that their favorite moogle has come out with a new ice cream. Only when the 3 try to get some, it's sold out, and after all the trouble they had, to get past what seemed like an increase in wild heartless on the way there. Before they could try again later, pink-girl informs the other 2 that the reason for the slight increase in heartless enemies is because keykids have started to go missing. They each search around Daybreak Town for clues, to which 'Mog' and pink-girl find information that missing keykids were last seen around the docks of Waterfront PaPark. After searching a whole day at the nearby island, they finally bump into 'leader' and afro-boy, who admit to the homework as being a distraction from the issue of the missing keykids, as well as to a particular rumor of treasure. Apparently a keykid was swept away in the ocean current [and made it back safely], who claimed to have glimpsed a shipwreck that could've perchance contained treasure. As would have been expected, keykids started jumping at the chance to find treasure, but weren't heard from or seen again. Even though 'leader' was a bit upset [for their safety], and hoped that 'Player', 'Mog', and pink-girl would be preoccupied with a seemingly impossible job, she admits that she and afro-boy could really use their help, and that a boat would leave soon from the island, to where the investigation was leading them. Though, once they get there, everyone was overwhelmed by what waited; it was so dark that nobody could tell what they were cruising towards. The boat started rocking, and throwing everyone around, causing them to bang into the sides and fall against the floor/deck, when 3 members were thrown overboard. In the midst of 'leader', pink-girl, and 'Mog' falling overboard, 'leader' tells 'Player' (and afro-boy) to get away while they still can, too battered and dizzy to fully realize or inform what seems so strange about what they are falling into. They make their way back to the island, [somehow faster (air current? keyblade magic? manual override of the boat's systems?)], and then the other boat back to Daybreak Town's mainland, too exhausted to speak, and 'Player' even becomes bedridden for a couple days. Despite their chirithy's protests, 'Player' forces themselves to check the docks for a boat, but there isn't one available, and returns to their abode, that is, until afro-boy shows up later and informs that a boat will be arriving the next day. 'Player' also relieves afro-boy's worries of him possibly having to go back alone, before they both catch the boat the next day. Upon finally arriving where their colleagues fell overboard, still dark, but not quite as much as when they arrived, they find what seems to be an island that has shattered into many small rocky portions of land, and one of Daybreak Town's boats sticking out of the water, from what looks like a swirling purple whirlpool portal to the realm of darkness [home of the heartless]. Also, next to the devestating sight of the half-present catamaran, is what looks to be an old rust-colored steamship sticking out of the water. Once 'Player' and afro-boy delve into the dark void, desperate to find/save their friends before the darkness of the realm does, they find pink-girl and a nervous/scared 'Mog', who apparently got separated from 'leader'. The 4 of them press on, determined not to leave without 'leader', when they find her bandana; a sign they were on the right track. They finally find 'leader' who has just found herself face-to-face with a pirate-looking heartless [Closehanded Captain]. Upon exiting the portal, daylight shines on the dreary place, giving some members an excuse to sigh in relief. When everyone gets back to Daybreak Town, they decide to meet up on a grassy cliff that overlooks the town. Once everyone arrives, 'leader' and afro-boy reveal that they have a special reward for everyone [though not necessarily originally intended as such]. That reward, low-and-behold, is a sea-salt ice-cream for each team member; apparently why the moogle was sold out of the treats. In all the excitement and relief of finally getting to try the new ice-cream, 'leader' catches 'Mog', pink-girl, and 'Player' completely off-guard when she tells the other 3 that they still need to complete their 'homework' [regarding the hunt for the Hermit Pretender], despite originally meant as a distraction, and that they better hurry before each of their ice-creams melt and summer ends. With that, 'Player', 'Mog', and pink-girl all run off, leaving behind 'leader' and afro-boy laughing on the overlook, still holding the sea-salt ice-creams.

[It is unknown if the 'Player', pink-girl, & 'Mog' find a Hermit Pretender off-screen, but it is safe to assume they receive their ice-creams]

[The amount of days that the side-story takes for the characters themselves spans an assumed 22-25 days, based on in-game 'day#' prompts]
