An Inkling is a key item that appears in Kingdom Hearts coded. The sixteen Inklings, which appear as glowing white sparks, are scattered across Wonderland due to a bug. They are lost memories of specific subjects, and must be reunited with their owners, however, there is no way to tell who an Inkling belongs to, so Sora must guess by selecting the most appropriate Inkling to fill in the gaps in another person's memories.

Just as Data-Sora arrives in Wonderland, a girl appears, chased by Heartless and seeking help. After Data-Sora defeats the Heartless, he asks the girl for her name, but she can't remember a thing. The Cheshire Cat appears, and tells Data-Sora that everyone in the world lost their memories, because the place has been "buggy". Data-Sora makes a comment about finding a Keyhole quickly when suddenly the girl responds that she saw a large Keyhole before, but can't quite remember where it is. The Cheshire Cat then tells Data-Sora to restore her memories by finding Inklings, before he disappears. Data-Sora then finds an Inkling and uses it to make the girl remember her name, Alice. Even though she remembers her name, she still can't recall where she saw the Keyhole. The Cheshire Cat appears again and tells Data-Sora to look for more Inklings, and to be careful since not only Alice's Inklings are scattered across the world, but everyone else's too.

When Data-Sora asks the White Rabbit if he knows something about Alice, he says that he only remembers that he glanced at his watch and knew he was late to the trial. After telling this, the White Rabbit ran away and left another Inkling behind for Sora.
