To unlock Riku, you must play Story Mode up to Day 171. Riku continues to use his signature, one-handed attack style in ''358/2 Days''. Able to attack repeatedly during a combo at relatively high speeds, he can be customized as with all playable characters via the Gear System. His Limit Break, Darkstrom, is very similar to the Dark Aura sleight used in ''Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories''. When using Guard, Riku summons an energy shield directly in front of him, similar to the Dark Shield ability he had as a Party Member in ''Kingdom Hearts II''.
