Final Episode: Difference between revisions

'''Final Episode''' true to its name, is the last part of the story in ''[[Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep]]''. During this last period, the player will play as [[Aqua]]. Upon completion of this Final Episode, the player will be able to activate the [[Vanitas Remnant]] and [[Unknown (Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep)]] battles. The Final Episode is unlocked after finding all the [[Xehanort Reports]]

==Storyline==

The Final Episode starts with Aqua carrying [[Ventus]] out of the [[Mysterious Tower]]. When Aqua doesn't know where to go, Ventus summons [[Wayward Wind|his Keyblade]] and opens a door to the [[Land of Departure]]. Once there, Aqua sees her home's ruined state for the first time and is horrified by it. She finds [[Master Eraqus]]'s Keyblade and goes inside. She places Ventus's body in one of the chairs and recalls what Master Eraqus said to her after she became a master.Using Master Eraqus's Ketblade, she goes to the [[Keyhole]] and locks it. When the resulting flash of light fades, Aqua finds herself in the [[Chambers of Repose and Waking]], with Ven still in the chair in the middle of the chamber. She promises Ven that she will come back after she found [[Terra]].

Going outside, she sees the Land of Departure had become [[Castle Oblivion]]. Hearing Terra's voice, she departs to find him. She follows his voice to the [[Radiant Garden]].

There, she sees an amnesiac [[Xehanort]], whom she believes to be Terra. Xehanort grabs Aqua by the neck, inquiring his identity. Sensing the powerful darkness inside him, Aqua tries to tell him that he is Terra, but instead, Master Xehanort regains control of the body, and proceeds to try and eliminate Aqua.  After battling both Xehanort and his [[Xehanort's Guardian|guardian]], Terra begins to retake control of hisbody, so Xehanort uses his Keyblade to lock him out. This results in Xehanort to be dragged into the darkness by his own guardian, and Aqua jumps in to save him.  

Aqua manages to retrieve Terra's body, and tries to head back towards the [[Universe of Kingdom Hearts|Realm of Light]]. However, it soon becomes clear that Aqua would not be able to save both of them, so Aqua scrifices her Keyblade and armor so that Terra might make it to back, while she herself is doomed to the Realm of Darkness.

The scene changes to show [[Sora]] and [[Riku]] lying on a beach. Riku decides to go home, and Sora agrees. while they walk home, Riku notices a tear rolling down Sora's cheek, which neither understand. Riku suggests it's because somebody under the same sky as them is sad, and that maybe Sora should call out to them with his heart. Sora doesn't truly understand, but decides to give it a shot. It then shows Ven in his resting place, Sora's voice asking if he can hear him.

[[Braig]] is then seen leading [[Ansem the Wise]] and [[Dilan]] to the spot where Xehanort and Aqua's keyblade and armor were lying. Ansem questions the amnesiac young man, who reveals his name to be Xehanort, to which Braig gives a triumphant smile. Ansem then has Braig carry Xehanort back to the castle. Braig then asks Dilan to retrieve the keyblade and armor.

The last scene shows Aqua wandering throughout the Realm of Darkness. A [[Darkside]] appears before her, and she summons Eraqus's Keyblade and prepares to fight. Suddenly, three more Darksides appear, and Aqua contemplates simply giving in to the darkness. All of a sudden, two beams of light appear and vanquish the Darkside, which reveal themselves to be Terra and Ven's Keyblades. Aqua then smiles, something she realizes she had forgotten to do, and proclaims that there is always a way.

After the credits, it shows Sora in a Station of Awakening. He sees Ven's heart above him, and asks it if it can hear him. Ven does, saying he followed it to a sea of light, with Sora. Sora asks if Ven is sad, and Ven asks Sora if he can join with his heart once more. Sora agrees, saying if it makes him feel better. Ven thanks Sora, and rests within Sora's heart. Back on the beach again, Riku asks Sora if it worked, and Sora says it did.
