You can always extract textures like this too, probably getting all facial animations in the process. Getting the textures files from the HD games is a major pain, I have like 14,000 files for ReCoM and my texture extracting script is crashing every two minutes with different errors and I don't even know if I find these textures among them. The textures are another complicated matter, I think the format was never actually researched except by a [https://deepdivetranslations.altervista.org/kingdom-hearts-dream-drop-distance/ Italian translation group], who didn't release any tools I think. You probably could everything by using the Citra emulator, I think it has texture dumping, maybe even model dumping. That Keyblade texture is actually for the Anti-Sora's you face off against in Riku's Dream Dive into Sora's Dream before you fight Armored Ventus Nightmare. I was reading the article about the "Battle Report" which appears at the end of the game, and I was wondering what programs/settings you used to capture the screenshots from that part of the game. Did you use an emulator instead of real hardware? If so, what renderer/filtering/resolution did you use? Did you edit the images afterwards? :I used emulator's for all battle screens with the exceptions of BBS, these are just PSP screenshots. The GBA/NDS screens are native resolution, for the PS2 games I used PCSX2 with the [https://i.imgur.com/5BO5Jtk.png following graphic plugin]. At least I think these are the settings I used, this was really some time ago. ::No. Burrfish for example is already a game rip. It's not the lighting, these Heartless look more blurred compared to their KHX counterparts because of how the the KHUX assets are converted. On one hand the Heartless are considerably smaller and on the other hand all animations exist as pre-rendered pieces that were probably compressed another time and loose even more detail in motion. The same is true for the characters and all Avatar stuff.

:::The problem here is not the game itself (at least not yet) but that it requires a PS4 firmware version of 6.02 and above. As far as I know there hasn't been a custom firmware above 5.05 yet, so there is no way to get the files (decrypted). Strange, and maybe premature question, but do you have a partitioned/unassembled gamerip of the KH3 logo? I just realized I made a huge mistake with the spacing on the Re Mind logo and I can't fix it without individual pieces of the KH3 logo. At the very least the "III" and the heart without the font on front (like our KH3 icon). ::The whole deal with the KH3 game files is very strange to say the least. The people who got these files in the first place apparently use some non-public exploit and they share some (!) of these files in absolute secrecy. I know for a fact that menu textures and so on are currently not available, models and maps on the other hand seem to be mostly complete. There is still so much modeling stuff do be done I don't know when I have the time to even start looking into it. :::As far as I know the KH3 assets that are floating around on various sites only contain the models, maps and most textures. Everything related to the menu (font, items, sprites, gui etc.) hasn't been made available yet by whoever extracted these resources in the first place. To get the sprites I cropped 4k screenshots I made myself, you can still see where I had to remove the "MP" text. Most videos on this site are supplementary, so removing them won't do much harm (please state removing it in the summary anyway). Would it be a good idea to upload images of character screenshots directly from the journals in the games? :I think it depends on the image in question. Generally we prefer official renders above or else here because apart from other reasons they will always illustrate the character the best. Using screenshots from the journal is often only an option if no such image is available yet and and in these cases we generally prefer renders of model rips since they can be posed for a similar result. The Shadow in your screenshot for example uses its typical crouching animation which makes it hard recognize every part of it.
:As for the quality I agree that especially the enemy images have much left to be desired but since the gallery space is just there to illustrate the differences between the games basically and you won't notice that much of a quality difference in the info boxes/thumbnails, so it's not that important for the wiki to always have super crisp images if they are hard to come by.
:If you have images that really boost the page you can go for it, otherwise it's often not worth the hassle (including making the background transparent etc.). --{{User:ShardofTruth/Sig}} 17:37, 10 December 2019 (UTC)

:That's because these texture are all referenced by the same name in the map file, if you unpack them with Noesis it will replace them one by one until only the last, Roxas's icon, is left. :What do you mean exactly?
:Union Cross uses lightwave (lwf) animation files, that are basically reduced swf files, which means characters/enemies are divided in the animated parts (head, arms, legs etc.) and the swf's vector graphics are converted into pixel graphics. So what you'll usually find are a bunch of very small png files you'll have to piece together to get the full character.
:The catch is that, at least in case of the characters, the quality is often the same or even worse compared to screenshots directly taken from the game. That's why most of the KHUX sprites here are cropped screenshots instead of "ripped renders" or something like that. But there is basically no way to increase their quality, at least not without the original swf files that exist for all Heartless/characters that appeared in the browser version of the game (KHX). There are exceptions, for example when the game zooms in during a cutscene the lwf parts are often of higher quality or complete images altogether. == Kingdom Hearts Dark Road rips ==

:The problem with all KHUX/KHDR sprites is that most of the time they are not pre-assembled and the files are all over the place because the folder structure is not kept and duplicates were already eliminated (meaning if a character uses a slightly different smile in some other cutscene it will not be were most of the character's parts are but someplace else or all characters that use the same boots and walking animation won't have separate files for that) while extracting so there are thousands of files to go through.

I guess I relied on Sign to crop these characters which she didn't. I could crop them from the cutscenes but I don't have the time to reassemble them for slightly better quality at the moment which basically goes like this: Make a screenshot of the character in the pose you want, adjust that screenshot's image size to the size of the parts and then arrange all single parts until it looks like the image. --{{User:ShardofTruth/Sig}} 18:58, 27 November 2023 (UTC)

:I think that's to be expected since it's notoriously hard if not impossible to get anything out of iOS games. The Android version is very likely the way to go but the beta for this one won't start until January. == Marluxia model ==

So, um...I have a small favor to ask, though it's oddly specific in ways even I don't understand. Since you ripped basically everything from the PS4 version of ReCoM, can you also upload the models of Marluxia's final forms? Both second and third - both Marluxia and the Specter. The models ''and'' textures! There's something rather specific about them that makes any versions - even PC - useless for rigging into Unreal. This HAS to be from the PS4 version, and PS4 only - mdl and rtm. FYI, Version 2.0 is now out with 3.0 on the way! :You're in luck, I found those files on my old laptop. I uploaded all enemy models [https://www.mediafire.com/file/vdtgpuu5ldp8ayp/KHRECOM_PS4_ENEMY.zip/file here]. Marluxia should be EN0119 (normal), EN0120 (2nd Form) and EN0138 (3rd Form). If someone can make some good renders with these maybe they could replace those screenshots here.
