I'm a bit confused about the bit where it says that the hat is the source of his magic, i know mickey doesn't do any magic in ''Apprentice'' until he puts on the hat but Yen Sid is able to part the waters and clean up the mess '''before''' mickey gives the hat back to him. maybe the hat is a booster, or maybe mickey just wanted to look like his teacher but ''source'' certainly isn't right.

The new scans hinted that Yen Sid migth be a keyblade master one clue they give is Terra reffering to him as "Master" Yen Sid also he is the one training Mickey, could he be the master of the third throne(the empty one we see behind Eraqus in the TGS 09 trailer when he gave Aqua and Terra the Master Test).

:Uh no, he ''did'' become a Keyblade master along with Eraqus and Xehanort. The three are of the same batch. == Coded Secret ending ==

If anyone has seen the ending for Re Coded knows that some big events are taking place. However, didn't Master Yen Sid quit being a master? It is very possible that Yen Sid decided to come out of retirement. However, he was training Mickey as a keyblade wielder in Birth By Sleep, and events happened afterwards that led to Mickey also becoming a Keyblade Master. Mickey does so without Master Eraqus around (who could logically be the only other person to oversee the test, looking at Master Xehanort's history), and passed his test at the end of Birth By Sleep while Yen Sid was still retired. If that logic fails, since Mickey is considered a Keyblade Master, Mickey could oversee the test. [[User:Ganondorf Undurin Dragmire|GUD]] 22:20, January 19, 2011 (SCT)

Following Sora's visit to [[Olympus]] and [[Riku]] and [[the King]]'s trip to the [[Dark World]], they return to the [[Mysterious Tower]] to update Yen Sid on their progress. Sora reveals that he failed to find an answer to regain his lost strength, while Riku and the King explain they need stronger [[Keyblade]]s to fight off the Heartless in their search for [[Aqua]]; [[Way to the Dawn]] was broken in half and left behind, while [[Kingdom Key D]] is damaged. Yen Sid tells Riku and the King to visit [[Merlin]] for stronger armaments, tasking them with delivering new garments (which shield the wearer from [[darkness]]) for [[Kairi]] and [[Lea]]. When Sora bemoans the fact he has not been given a new outfit, Yen Sid calms him by explaining [[Flora, Fauna and Merryweather]] needed some extra time to prepare his clothes, presenting him with a suitcase with his new clothes; he informs him that there is [[Gummiphone|a surprise]] from [[Chip]] and [[Dale]] inside, also gifting him with a [[Heartbinder]] to call upon the [[Dream Eater|Spirits]] for help.

Later, the King and Riku return to reveal the progress of their continued search for Aqua, being joined by Sora, Donald and Goofy, fresh from their adventure in [[Monstropolis]]. Yen Sid concludes that they have reached both a dead end and a paradox; they need someone with a strong connection to find Aqua, but they need Aqua to find [[Ven]], the only one they know has a strong connection to her (as [[Terra]] is not an option as Xehanort has claimed he is part of the new Organization). Unaware of Ven's heart within Sora, Yen Sid is surprised by the boy's sudden outburst that he would save Aqua. However, as Sora has not remastered the [[power of waking]], he is unable to come and go from the Dark World safely. It is concluded that Sora will continue to regain his strength, while the King and Riku continue the search for Aqua.

After Aqua is rescued from the Dark World and Sora restores Ven's heart, the now-complete [[Seven Guardians of Light]] return to Yen Sid, who is happy to see the students of [[Eraqus]] return after so long. Yen Sid also notes that with Donald and Goofy included (despite their lack of keyblades), they possess ''nine'' guardians. After the group gets reacquainted, with both Sora and Lea confused about Aqua and Ven's connection to them, Yen Sid announces that the battle against Xehanort and his Organization will take place the following day, telling the warriors to take the night to rest.

He forces the creatures aside with his barrier, creating a path for the guardians to go after the Organization. Donald and Goofy stick behind to back Yen Sid up.

Sometime after Xehanort's defeat, Yen Sid returns to Disney Castle with Mickey, Jiminy Cricket, Donald and Goofy.
