::The entire purpose of the userspace is to forge camaraderie between users. If we try to say that it is just for work, then we don't need userboxes at all, and anyone without a sandbox should have their userpages deleted. The very ''existence'' of the userspace and userboxes means that we should be using them to foster friendships, and if anything, these types of userboxes are much more useful than the mindless "Look at me, I'm a wikijaguar!" or "I like Final Fantasy" or even better, all the ones based on KH-themed webcomics. These are in fact improvements on placid friends lists, since they allow the possibility of "Hey, maybe they just didn't make a template", rather than "If you're not on here, they hate you." Honestly, the only userboxes we have that could be pure work are the "I beat the game" ones, and that's only if we want to start reverting any edits by people who don't have all of them on their user page. (This is a sarcastic suggestion, by the way)

::This is exactly the opposite of the sentiment expressed by these. The point of these is to show your coworkers that, hey, ''I really appreciate all you've done for me, enough to '''design''' something for you''. We've had tons of trouble with editors leaving because, even though we (maybe just me) love them, they feel like no one cares about them, just because no one ever tells them. Asking people to give no recognition is going to result in a deadened wiki where no one wants to work. Hell, I've just barely managed to keep the DMC wiki going by buttering the hell out of the infrequent editors who show love for the series, and telling them how thankful I am that they came to help out. And that's with a series that hasn't had any developments for years - the wiki could actually be ''completed'' soon.
