Diamond Select Figures

Diamond Select Figures refers to a collection of officially-licensed Kingdom Hearts figurines manufactured by Diamond Select Toys.

The primary figurine lines are the Kingdom Hearts Select line and its successor, the Kingdom Hearts III Select line, each made up of several series of action figures. The Kingdom Hearts Gallery line is made up of larger, more detailed dioramas. There are also two Kingdom Hearts figure in Diamond Select Toys's Legends in 3D line, which consists of detailed character busts.

Diamond Select Toys also produces two lines of miniature figures: the plastic Minimates and the vinyl Vinimates.

Development[edit]

Diamond Select Toys first revealed prototypes of the Kingdom Hearts Select line at the New York Toy Fair 2017. In addition to early versions of the Sora, Mickey Mouse, Dusk, and Shadow figures, the display included Roxas, Maleficent, Jafar, Iago, Abu, and a Creeper Plant, which would not be included in the final Series 1 lineup.

At New York Comic Con 2017, Diamond Select Toys showed off the new Minimates line. The display showed figurines of Sora, Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, Donald in his Space Paranoids outfit, Goofy, Tron, and Sark. Also included were prototypes of Timeless River Mickey, Timeless River Donald, Wisdom Form Sora, Mickey in his Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep outfit, Donald in his wizard outfit, and a Shadow, all of which were excluded from the final release.

At San Diego Comic Con 2018, prototypes of Kairi in her Kingdom Hearts II school uniform and Mickey Mouse in his Kingdom Hearts Chain of Memories attire were shown off alongside Series 3 of the Kingdom Hearts Select. These figures did not make the final lineup.

Series 3 of the Kingdom Hearts Select line underwent a major change between announcement and release. The series was supposed to come in three 3-packs: Black Coat Mickey, an Assassin, and a Shadow; Space Paranoids Goofy, Tron, and a Shadow; and Space Paranoids Sora, Space Paranoids Donald and Sark. This was later changed to one 3-pack and two 2-packs: Black Coat Mickey, an Assassin, and a blue Shadow; Space Paranoids Goofy and Tron; and Space Paranoids Sora and Sark. While multiple retailers still listed the Space Paranoids Donald figure on their sales pages after the change, the figure was never actually released.

Multiple lines of figures, including Series 3 of the Minimates line, were revealed at the New York Toy Fair 2019. In addition to all of the figurines that made it into the final lineup, ultimately unreleased Minimate figures of Mike Wazowski, Monstropolis Goofy, Baymax, Sora in his Kingdom Hearts III outfit, The Caribbean Sora, and Elizabeth Swann were shown off at the event. Two scrapped Kingdom Hearts III Vinimates were also on display, being Mickey Mouse and Sora in their Kingdom Hearts III outfits.

There are two figures from Kingdom Hearts III Select Series 3 that made it into production, but were ultimately canceled: Wisdom Form Toy Box Sora and Guardian Form Toy Box Sora.
