Aqua using Mega Flare

Mega Flare (メガフレア Mega Furea?) is a technique in Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories, Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep, and Kingdom Hearts Re:coded. Once used, the caster fires a fireball that, upon impact of an enemy, creates a blinding, screen-distorting explosion that heavily damages all enemies on screen.

In all versions of Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep besides the original Japanese version, Mega Flare's power is reduced. This is due to the Japanese version's Mega Flare being considered to be too powerful.[citation needed]

Mechanics

In Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories and Kingdom Hearts: Re:Chain of Memories Mega Flare is an attack Sleight.

In Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep, Mega Flare is an Ultimate Magic Command that takes up two slots in the Command Deck, has a maximum level of 6, a normal reload time of 50 seconds, and fills the Command Gauge by 55%.

In Kingdom Hearts Re:coded, Mega Flare is a Type A Overclock Finisher that is activated by pressing A. As it is a Type A Finisher there are no buttons that are needed to be pressed once you activate it.
