The way I was taught, "n" before a b- or p- kana is romanized and pronounced as "m". So, you get "Kumbira" and stuff like that. I assume we're using Wāpuro rōmaji as the standard, right? If there's something I'm missing, please explain. Thanks!Glorious CHAOS! 22:51, 31 May 2009 (UTC)

See, I thought we were using wapuro because of how we do long and combination vowels: here and here. On a personal note, I greatly dislike using Hepburn pretty much for that reason. To me, one of the best things about the Japanese language is how regular it is, and Hepburn manages to stuff English's randomness and seemingly arbitrary rules into that.

Never mind. Looking at the wapuro rules again, "n" is always romanized as "n" anyway, so the m thing is just in traditional Hepburn, I guess. The only problem here, then, is whether it's worth mentioning (maybe as a notation in the article), that the romaji are pronounced as "m" instead of "n". 358/2 days weapon abilities

The template you've created is awesome. But wouldn't it be more accurate if, instead of ability, it was Ability Unit 1, Ability Unit 2, Ability Unit 3 ? This way it's easier to understand that the weapons don't have the abilities themselves but you need to equip an ability unit. What do you think?

Warlock

Yes, it does usually translate it as warlock, but Saix has the Berserker job - he's a man possessed by a demon, not a man who employs demonic arts. "Demoniac" or some form of demon-man is a lot closer to the intended meaning, I think.Glorious CHAOS! 02:42, 14 June 2009 (UTC)

True, phonetically the norm is to pronounce it as a long o, but aren't we using the wapuro or whichever style, where we spell them out by kana?

TALK - I really just don't like Hepburn like that because you have to be intimately familiar with how things are pronounced, and it just adds a lot of rules to it, and it makes it harder to look up in a dictionary. And then what would you do if you had, I don't know, "諸祖父"? Really though, you're a lot better with Japanese than I am, so if you say it's the way to go, then I trust your decision. It's going to make it a b**ch to clean up after my romaji mistakes, though.

KrytenKoro - "An education was a bit like a communicable sexual disease. It made you unsuitable for a lot of jobs and then you had the urge to pass it on." TALK - The problem I'm having is that Modified Hepburn doesn't even use the macron like we do - it just spells it out as "oo" or "ou", while that looks confusing for the way English does double vowels ("aa" isn't pronounced like "a" with a macron, for example), and I personally have no idea how to tell if an ou should be ou or oo. So we'd have to go through and redo everything basically, while with Wapuro, we just need to figure out which o-macron's are actually ou.

Final Mix Synthesis

For the new Final Mix Synthesis items, I'm using the translations given in KH2, for several reasons;

1. KH1's synthesis was hastily translated, as seen with Power Crystal and the Goo (which was "droplets", as in bigger shards), and the Mystery materials
2. KH2 is more recent and uses many of the same Japanese item names, indicating that the translations have been "corrected".
3. The images for stuff like Goo in KH2 depict something that is not slime.

Especially since most of the FM1 translations's were badly fitting translations trying to use the KH1 naming system (see again, Power Goo and Energy Stone), I think this will work best and keep the materials as organized as possible. It reminds me of how Goofy and Vexen can both wield Freeze Pride, but only Donald can wield Centurion, not Lexaeus. In short, not all expected connections come to truth. However, if it does turn out to be Teamwork, then we will get it changed when Days gets its NA release.

Why wouldn't there be a connection?, DTN?

1. In KH2, Japanese "Unison Athlete"=English "Teamwork."
2. You don't seem to have any qualms with using "Pearl" instead of "Holy", when it's the exact same case as above.
3. Donald's Days Limit Break is also named after the KH2 ability that enables his Limit (Fantasia).
4. Goofy's "Freeze Pride"=Vexen's "Freeze Pride". Donald has Centurion, but Lexaeus has Haten/Torn Heaven. They're different weapons. Moot point when we're talking about naming conventions.—Urutapu 07:02, 8 August 2009 (UTC)

The base verb is 知る(P); 識る 【しる】 (v5r,vt) to know; to understand; to be acquainted with; to feel; (P) [V][Ex][G][GI][S][A][W] [JW] [G][GI][S][A]

the rareru form makes this passive, so "to be known".

The -zaru makes this anti-, so "to be unknown".

I accidentally copied the kana from the KHII article, let me replace it with the correct kana from websites.

• "Kearu" is what the websites gave, and it appears in BBS as well, from what I've seen.Here.
• "Ferious" is also what I saw for Beast, though the fansites I copied it from might have been wrong.Here.
• Are you sure it should be "asper" (rough), rather than "Aspiré" (breathing)?
• From the MOS I'm familiar with, citations are done before commas but after periods.

• Citations come after punctuation, except for some cases like dashes (and parentheses, or I did at least) where putting the citation after would be confusing.

The Kingdom Hearts Wiki has decided to perform a staff reorganization. We would like to move any retired editors off of the list of active staff. This does not entail a revoking of your staff powers - if you ever decide to come back, you can pick up right where you left off. We would like to know whether or not you would like to officially retire, to make space for newer active staff. If you would like to keep your seat, please reply to this message. I strongly encourage you to view and reply to this forum. It has been a long time since you have significantly contributed to the Kingdom Hearts Wiki, and it has come to question whether or not you should remain listed as an active staff member. I dunno how active I'm gonna be, but long time no see!

Jiminy's Journal refers to the Organization member that delivers the card tutorials, etc. as the Enigmatic Man. He's Marluxia, of course, but I don't think the journal ever updates to reflect that (which actually makes more sense than the alternative, since I'm pretty sure Sora and gang never got actual proof of who the Enigmatic Man was). So, first off, are you planning on being active? We are right in the middle of staff elections, and part of that is moving all active mods up to administrator rank. If you do plan to be here a lot, I'll update the election-info page accordingly, and you'll have a shiny new adminship come Monday. If not, then you'll still have your modship, and we'll probably have elections again when you do become active.

For Zephyr and Moonglade, my interpretation was that Xaldin's lances were supposed to have a "Chinese" theme, due to the strong focus on pure-kanji names with no kana.
