The Tornado Step (トルネードステップ Torunēdo Suteppu) is an Emblem Heartless that is found in Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories and Kingdom Hearts II, making it one of only three Heartless to appear in the former game, along with the Crescendo and Creeper Plant. The Tornado Step mostly attacks by spiraling its body continuously like a tornado, but it can also heal when its HP is low.
Design
The Tornado Step has a very small, navy-blue body, emblazoned with the Heartless emblem. Two short legs can be seen at the bottom of the body, and a short, thin neck extends from the top to it's round head, harboring two glowing, yellow eyes and a jagged maw. The Heartless wears a tall, conical, blue hat, with a bent tip and two yellow, spiral-like designs on the front. It is unclear whether the Heartless has arms extending from where it's ears would be, or if the long, light-aqua colored extremities are actually part of the Heartless's hat. Black hands and yellow bangles can be seen at the end of the "arms".
In Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix, the Tornado step experiences a very dramatic color change; it's body and head now has a reddish tint, it's hat is a light-orange, the spiral-like designs are now dark-orange, it's "arms" are a light-yellow color, it's hands are a reddish color and the bangles it wears are green.
A tornado is a violent, rotating column of air. This highlight's the Tornado Step's spinning movements and it's wind-based attacks.
